During your career, you will often have the opportunity to talk to the Board. What it mainly means that you will have to file a request with the Board. You can do that by accessing Board, selecting the topic of your request from the Request to the Board drop-down menu.

Possible requests to the Board have been divided into six categories. - How to file a request with the Board? - Questions and Answers - Football Manager 2016 - Game Guide and Walkthrough
Possible requests to the Board have been divided into six categories.

Your request may concern several different aspects:

The Stadium - questions concerning the expansion of the stadium (additional seats), building a new one or buying one (in which case the club takes it over). These issues usually involve the topic of finances, which is why the Board is often reluctant towards accepting them. What can get you approval of your requests is impeccable liquidity of the club.

Facilities - options that allow you to build new training facilities or facilities for juniors. Just like in the case of stadiums, this entails the necessity to ensure the club's financial stability. In the case of losses, it is also possible to ask the Board to cut funding, which allows you to save money for other expenses.

Finances - one of requests that you file the most frequently and it concerns raising transfer budget and salary budget, as well as raising money spent on juniors. It is also a good idea to ensure a satisfying percentage of income from selling players appropriated to the budget. Therefore, do not be surprised if you receive less money for a player than you originally expected. This is what this factor is for and you can request raising it.

Contacts - this tab concerns expanding the radius of your scouting (you can send your scouts farther and farther) and searching for both the patron club and affiliated clubs. Also, you can ask for a test day to be arranged, whose aim is to attract promising players.

Coaching staff - In the Board tab, before you make a request, you can check out the number of employed coaching staff members, and the maximum number of coaches permitted by the Board. If you believe that the number is too low, you can request raising it, or raising the maximum salary that you can offer to the prospective coach.

Personal - this tab concerns your manager. You can request your team's playing style or a new, better-paid contract.

In the case of the Boards limited trust in you, having your request granted to you is nothing short of a miracle. - How to file a request with the Board? - Questions and Answers - Football Manager 2016 - Game Guide and Walkthrough
In the case of the Board's limited trust in you, having your request granted to you is nothing short of a miracle.

Making your requests to the Board is a titillating option and sometimes, it can even allow you to increase considerably your expenditures on transfers, or allow you to hire more staff. The catch is, however, that hardly ever does the Board grant your request and they do not concur too often. What is important here, is maintaining the appropriate level of contentment of the Board, which you can look up in the Board tab. If your position in the club is stable and the team have good results, this considerably increases your chances of having your request granted. During your conversation with the Board, you can try to convince them to your point, after their initial reluctance (e.g. by saying that this request means much to you - with everything on the right course and the Board satisfied with your work, you can try that). The possibility with which your request will be granted or rejected is also affected by the level of your manager's Determination, as well as the club's finances (the Board may share your view, but there is be no money to build something new). Finally, in the case of rejection, you can pick the "Media Leak" option, but most usually the only result is that you only make the Board angry, or you can pick "Ultimatum" - but only if you are irreplaceable. Then the Board will either bend to your arguments or discontinue your contract. Just remember that there is a limit on requests that you can make to the Board and there is not much sense in filing a new one, e.g. every week.

To sum up, your chances to succeed at Board talks are influenced by the Board's opinion on your work. Extraordinary results of your work increase significantly your chances of convincing the Board to fork out additional money for transfers, and getting promoted to the higher division may help you develop your training base. In the case of starting over with a new club, your requests will rather be rejected, up until you make your name for yourself. All this boils down, therefore, to attaining sufficiently good results (remember that the Board's decisions are to a large extent, determined by the expectations specified at the beginning of the season) and the Board's contentment.
