Performing and using set pieces in FIFA 20 can lead to dangerous goal situations which can lead to you winning the game. This section describes all the set pieces that appear in FIFA 20, such as corner kicks, throws, throw-ins, free kicks and penalties. Throw-in

Throw-ins are made from behind the sideline and serve as means of resuming the game. While performing throw-ins try to aim in the direction of a football player who is not surrounded by players from the opposite team. Remember that by holding the pass button longer, the player will throw the ball much further.

Short play corner kick

Short play corner kick, involves a quick pass of the ball on the ground to the nearest player in order to continue the action or place the ball in the penalty box. Such version of the corner kick allows for the loosening up of the situation in the penalty area, allowing the player to find spots that can be used to score a goal.

Classic corner kick

When the player performing a corner approaches the ball, a cursor appears in the enemy penalty box that will help you determine the location of the play. When you place the cursor in the right place, you can press the shoot button and choose the strength of the move. Make the play not too strong, otherwise, the ball will fly over the penalty area and your players won't be able to finish the action. Making corner shots requires a lot of practice, so it will take some time before you learn how to throw the ball correctly into the goal field.

When making a corner kick, you can also select the player to whom the ball will land. To do this, you need to press the modifier button. Normally, the game itself will choose the player with the highest stats in terms of height and jump, but you can correct that choice by pressing the button responsible for the modifier again. After selecting a player, you will be able to perform a corner kick with the cross button, after which you will immediately take control of the selected player, and you will be able to complete the action.

Free throws - preparation

To perform a penalty it is better to choose a player who has high statistics of the power of the shot, accuracy, and acceleration - such a player is likely to be selected automatically. If you want to shoot at the right side of the target, select a left-footed player. In turn, if you want to score to the left of the goal, select a right-footed player. The same rule applies to crosses from free throws. For example, to make the free throw shown in the image above, the right-footed player was selected to play the ball coming away from the goal.

Powerful free-kick shot

At the moment when you have the opportunity to execute a penalty from about 18 meters, you can try a powerful shot on goal. First, select the target in the goal at which your player will try to aim, then select the type of the play (using the right analog) and choose the power of the shot. Performing free kicks requires a lot of practice, so don't get disaffected and continue trying.

Technical free-kick shot

By setting the ball at about 20 meters or closer, you can try to put a technical, soft and cranked shot. First of all, the target is behind the enemy wall, which usually means aiming beyond the target. Select the type of action with the right analog (you can crank up the shot) and set the desired power of the shot.

Penalty - execution

Penalties are always a lottery and a game of nerves, but it is worth studying their rules to slightly increase your chances for a goal. To perform a penalty, use the button responsible for the shot and select the desired direction. You can also use a Finesse shot modifier to make a technical shot. Remember to limit the power of the shot to about 2 bars, as otherwise there is a high probability of not hitting the goal.
