Managing the Team in FUT FIFA 19 Guide and FUT Tips

Last update: 08 October 2018

After having your team built, you will have to manage it the right way. The thrill of FIFA 19 Ultimate Team is not only playing the games - it's also signing new players, renewing contracts, taking care of the player's condition, helping them recover from injuries, running training sessions and improving the team constantly. This chapter contains all the information needed to properly manage the team.

Contracts

The players accepted into your team have contracts signed, which allow them to play a certain number of games. If a player signs a contract for seven games, you will have to renew it after the seven games are played (obviously enough).

How to renew a contract?

In the squad menu, go to the actions menu and select consumables - Managing the Team in FUT - FUT Guide - FIFA 19 Game Guide

In the squad menu, go to the actions menu and select consumables. Then go to the contracts tab. All you have to do is select the contract type and give it to the player. Above, you can see a player, who can only play seven games more; a golden contract will give you another 28 games with the player.

What happens when the contract expires?

No need to panic. You can sign another contract for a set number of games. Don't worry about losing a player. You just won't be able to play with them until the contract is renewed. Note the different types of contracts:

  • Bronze - used for renewing contracts of bronze players Not applicable to silver and gold.
  • Silver - used for renewing contracts of silver and bronze players. Can be used for signing golden players, but with less impressive effects.
  • Golden - used for renewing contracts of golden players. Can be used for signing bronze and silver players with great results.

How to get contracts?

The contracts are included in the packs bought for coins or FIFA points in FIFA 19. You can also buy them from other players in the transfer market. The game also features special Contracts, which you have to buy in the market for FFC points.

Players' Fitness

The players who play often will eventually start feeling fatigue and lose endurance points. Make the habit of checking the players' fitness before each game, in order to be able to act accordingly and proactively. It's also a good idea to give the entire team a Team Fitness Card every two games or so.

Injuries and Healing

Your players are prone to injuries during games. Different parts of body can be injured. An injury may happen in many ways; during a sliding tackle, an aggressive attempt to reclaim the ball or even pulling a hamstring when charging at the opponent's box. An injured player has to get fit and can't play for a few games.

Substitutions

The players who do a lot of running, sprinting, attacking and defending will eventually feel the game. The more tired they are, the less efficient they become. In case of such a situation, you need a good bench of substitutes, who will be able to enter the fray late in the game and help make a difference. Player's fatigue can be observed during a game - the fitness bar is in the standard location, in the bottom-left corner of the screen. You can also look it up from the match menu, after pressing the pause button.

Training Cards

The Training Cards allow you to reinforce the stats of the given player, but only for one game. If a training card has been awarded to a substitute, and they don't enter the game, the training effects remain until the next game. Remember that training cards can be used once and don't boost the stats permanently.
