After a buy, your purchases can be found in the shop, or before it.

By opening the store menu, you can purchase any machine that you can currently afford. It appears near a store on the map, from where it needs to be picked up. If one of your machines gets stuck, you can select it and choose Reset - this will take it back to the store.

From time to time, you will come across discounts. It's usually 5-10% discount, but if you were planning to purchase a better tractor, this amount can make a difference. You will always receive a notification about such discounts in the lower part of the screen.

If you want to sell a machine, you can do it remotely. Select the store and choose Garage in the lower part of the screen. It's obvious that the selling price will be much lower that the buying one. Thus, you may want to take your vehicle to the store (by using the Reset button), and move it to the blue zone which is the place where one can sell modifications. By taking transporting a machine to the store by yourself you will earn 20% more than by selling it automatically.

If you need a device only for a short time, you can rent it. The price is about 10% of the actual price, + 1% for every day of renting. Sometimes, it's a good way to test a device.

Modifications

In case of some vehicles, you can use modifications during the purchase: e.g. selected tractors can have better engines, or change tires in certain semitrailers. You can modify your vehicles later, by going to the blue zone - use it to sell and modify vehicles as you like. A digger is a very important upgrade. It allows installing front loaders with any header in certain tractors - very handy, and at the same time the cheapest way to quickly build a mini-digger or move some stillages with the fork.

You can build a workshop in any place on the map - the building allows free modifications. - Store, modifying and exploiting your machines - For beginners - Farming Simulator 17 Game Guide

The Vehicle Workshop (28 000$) is a useful addition which places the modification zone where you want to put it. However, you cannot sell vehicles there, and the modifications cost the same as in the workshop by the store.

Utilization and Wear

It's obvious that as you use your vehicles/machines, their prices will get lower and lower. You could continue to use them but every device undergoes daily costs of exploitation - you can check them in vehicle overview (II column). If it's red, you should reconsider purchasing a new one. If you cannot afford a new vehicle, use the old one as long as the exploitation cost doesn't reach 1% of its actual value - when that happens, it's better to rent a similar machine.

Lowering the price of a machine and increasing its maintenance cost is related to one factor - working time (in hours). Thus, don't overuse a machine if you don't have to, don't let your employees get stuck in them and don't spend all your money to buy a vehicle - soon you may not be able to pay for its exploitation. Dirt on you your machines does not affect the performance and cleaning your machines will not let them work longer. Also, remember to reduce the workload of your machines - for example, use a tractor with adequate horsepower for huge attachments in order to maximize efficiency.
