Last update: 15 February 2019

The postapocalyptic world is blossoming! Although the world of Far Cry: New Dawn is covered with colorful flowers, this does not mean that peace has come to Hope County. On the contrary, the land is full of ruthless bandits and monstrous animals. This section will help you survive in this dangerous world. A collection of tips for the beginning will introduce you to the game and will allow you to start having serious fun in Far Cry: New Dawn. Health regeneration, talents worthy of attention and goons for hire - these are the topics discussed below.

How to regenerate Health Points (HP)?

It is always worth having at least one first-aid kit with you.

Combat in Far Cry: New Dawn is the pivotal element of the gameplay. Because of this, your character will often be injured, so it's worth knowing how to regenerate your health points. There are two ways - using the first aid kit or retreating from the battlefield. If the hero flees the battlefield, he will only recover when he stops taking damage - this type of regeneration takes quite a long time and is rather useless when you want to take over a post, for example. First-aid kits work almost instantly - you just have to wait until the character performs the treatment animations. Packages are often found in different boxes or backpacks, but you can also make them yourself in the inventory menu. To create a first-aid kit, you will need:

  1. One Bougainvillea - this plant grows near rivers and lakes.
  2. Two Cistanche plants - you will find these near roads and in caves.
  3. One piece of meat - meat is obtained from the majority of killed animals.

It is also worth taking care of the maximum level of health. Visit the "How to increase health?" section of our guide for more information on this subject.

Travel with a Roster

You can only travel with one Roster at any given time.

Rosters are helpers with whom you can travel around the world. You will find 8 of them in total, but you have access to one of them right from the beginning. This is Carmina Rye, who will be happy to help you explore the land and fight against bandits. The Roster will follow you and attack nearby enemies. You can give simple orders to Rosters. Remember, however, that sometimes you have to take care of your companion - if they fall unconscious on the ground, try to approach and help them.

Do you want to get all the Rosters? Check the "Rosters" section of our guide.

Invest in the talent "Well-Armed" soon

The Well-Armed talent should be obtained as early as possible. - Tips for start Far Cry New Dawn - Game basics - Far Cry New Dawn Guide
The Well-Armed talent should be obtained as early as possible.

The Well-Armed talent allows you to carry an additional weapon. Thanks to this you can arm yourself much better and be ready for different situations. It is a good idea to have an automatic rifle along with a sniper rifle. This way you can get rid of enemies from a distance and from close up. You can also resign from one of these weapons to use a rocket launcher instead to destroy enemy vehicles.

Don't know where to get new weapons? Refer to the "How to get better weapons?" section of our guide.

Remember to turn off the alarm at posts

All you have to do is sneak in and press the button on the screen to turn it off. - Tips for start Far Cry New Dawn - Game basics - Far Cry New Dawn Guide
All you have to do is sneak in and press the button on the screen to turn it off.

In Far Cry: New Dawn you will often take over enemy outposts, e.g. in order to gain ethanol. It is worth remembering that in each outpost there is an alarm tower, i.e. a tall, illuminated object. Prior to a direct attack, sneak in to turn the alarm off. Otherwise, enemies will call for reinforcements, and you'll have to deal with more enemies. In addition, by taking over an outpost without triggering an alarm, you will get more ethanol.
