This page of the guide to Far Cry 6 explains whether you can manually save your progress. Additionally, you will learn if dying equals losing a lot of your recent progress.
The autosaving note is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen - a document icon appears for a very brief moment.
The game developers unfortunately didn't include the option to save manually or on different slots within a single campaign. You can rely only on autosaves. Fortunately, they are created very often, e.g. when starting/completing a mission, winning a fight or moving to a new location.
If you die, you will lose only a small amount of progress - you don't have to worry about massive losses.
- If you die during a mission, you will return to the last checkpoint (e.g. the start of the fight during which you died).
- If you die while exploring game world freely, you might return to, e.g. the last safe location or the place where you used fast travel.
The game automatically saves the unique loot you acquired, such as collectibles or unique weapons. You don't have to worry about losing these items.
