Fallout 76 is a huge game. The main quests allow the player to visit various locations, but you should also explore them on your own. The following page contains interesting locations that you should visit in order to get a lot of equipment - this is especially important at the beginning of the game where every weapon and bullet counts. All locations mentioned here are near Vault 76 which means that you can visit it at the beginning of the game. Every location is marked with a red outline on the maps below.

Go behind Vault 76 right after you leave it. The destroyed cabin is guarded by a few mutated dogs - you shouldn't have problems with eliminating them with the machete you got after leaving the vault. Inside the cabin, you will find a pistol, a revolver, and a lot of ammo. Besides that, you can also get food, alcohol and basic medicaments. This cabin also has a bed and a cooking spot.

The junkyard near Vault 76 is also worth checking out. Leave the vault and go right. You will come across a few robots. Defeat them, and collect a machete, a combat knife, a lot of crafting materials, caps, and ammo.

Moonshiner's Shack

Moonshiner's Shack is another interesting location near Vault 76. There, you will have to kill a few mutated cockroaches. Collect food, medicaments, and blueprints for upgrading armor. You can also use a weapon workbench.

North Kanawha Lookout

North Kanawha Lookout is near Vault 76. Get a firearm before you go there (you can find these weapons in, i.e. the destroyed cabin). The lookout is inhabited by a few Super mutants. Inside, you will find ammo and grenades. Defeat the Super mutants to get even more ammo and weapons.

Twin Pine Cabins

Twin Pine Cabins are near North Kanawha Lookout. The cabins are full of Scorched. As for loot, you will find a lot of ammo, weapons, and grenades. You should also search corpses of a few Super mutants lying here.

Anchor Farm

Anchor Farm is a bit farther from Vault 76. Remember to take a weapon with you (i.e. those found in the destroyed farm) - the farm has a few ghouls. These enemies drop Stimpacks and Rad-X. Examine the farm - you will find caps and a lot of food.

Tyler Country Fairgrounds

Tyler County Fairgrounds is a great location. It not only has good loot, but the location itself is also great-looking - this ruined fairground is fun to explore. Kill all Scorched and start looting this place. You will find a lot of crafting materials, ammo, an auto pistol, medicaments, and a fairground employee outfit. The ammo vending machine is also worth checking out.
