S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system will also be used in Fallout 76. Perks are back, too. However, perks are now available as cards. It is up to players to decide how they want to develop their character.

S.P.E.C.I.A.L

Upon gaining a new level you get one perk point which can be spend on one S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attribute - strength, perception, endurance, charisma, intelligence, agility and luck. The more points you put into a given attribute, the bigger impact it will have on your character.

Perks

After choosing an attribute you can see 3 cards - you have to pick one. Perk cards will have three ranks (the number of stats determine a perk's strength).

Cards can be traded with other players. These cards will probably develop along with your character. You won't have to switch them constantly.

Number of active perks is limited - because of that you should remember to check your new and old available cards. This will allow you to adjust your character to a given situation or to test different builds.
