On this page of the Elex 2 guide, you will find tips on how to easily recruit your first companion in the game. We have prepared our 2 recommended companions who are easy to find in the first hours of the game and whose presence in your team can make it easier for you to win the fights.
Basic information
You start the campaign in Elex 2 alone. Your priority should be to recruit your first companion in the first hours of the game. Playing solo is more difficult - all enemies you encounter are focused on the main character meaning you will have to defeat them yourself.
There are 7 companions available in the game. Below we have included two exemplary ones that you should be able to recruit very quickly after finishing the prologue. Having Caja or CRONY in your party will make completing initial quests and defeating monsters in the starting areas much easier. The support will not only help you to attack enemies more efficiently, but also distract them from Jax. This will be especially useful if you want to build your character mainly for ranged combat.

Caja as the first companion
Caja is the wife of the main character. You can meet her soon after finishing the prologue. She can be found in the Berserkers' outpost shown in the picture above - it's the western Carakis. You will reach this area shortly after Jax is saved by Adam.
During the conversation with Caja, you cannot ask her to travel together immediately. First, you must complete the Only a Dead Morkon quest during which you have to reach the Morkon camp and kill a few of them. If you have a problem with defeating the Morkons as a low-level character, equip any ranged weapons and aim for the red barrels in the camp. Their explosions can easily kill nearby enemies.
After dealing with the Morkons, you have to return to Caja and choose the dialogue option saying that you would like to see her by your side. Then invite her to travel the world together.
Kaja uses magic and is able to attack enemies with fire.
CRONY U4 as the first companion
CRONY U4 is a friendly intelligent drone that you may remember from the first game. You can also reach the drone shortly after finishing the prologue. You have to go west, to the area presented in the picture above. It is a clearing located to the east of the Fort (the Berserkers' headquarters).
After reaching the indicated place, you will trigger cut-scene of finding the drone. During the conversation with the CRONY drone, you can ask about its current tasks, and immediately invite it to your team. There are no additional requirements here.
CRONY attacks only from a distance with a laser cannon. The advantage of this companion may also be that CRONY is neutral, i.e. the decisions you make cannot affect the relationship with this companion.
