This page of the Elex 2 guide contains a walkthrough of the Knowledge is Power quest, received from Adam in the second chapter. During the quest, you have to get 4 Clusters of Skyanid Cells, lead Adam to the research site, and find Dex.
You can obtain clusters of cells in any order. Decide for yourself where to go first. The exact location of each cluster will be marked on the map, and the collection process is very simple - just interact with a cluster of cells.

Cells near the Grotto
Cells near the Grotto are by far the most difficult to collect. The nearby areas are full of strong enemies, such as the Shuffler. However, you don't have to fight them - go around them to avoid being attacked.
There is another difficult enemy by the cells. Brood Devil has a lot of health and deals high damage. If you are unable to defeat this opponent, try to quickly grab the cells and run away.
Cells near the Depository
The cluster of cells located near the Depository shouldn't be a problem for you. There you will only encounter 2 Trackers - you should be able to easily defeat them at this stage of the game.
Cells between Crater and the Castle
The cell clusters between Crater and the Castle are guarded by one Raptoroid. It is a demanding opponent. But the upside is that you have to fight a single enemy.
Cells in the western part of the map
You also have to go to the western edge of the map to get the cells. Unlock the nearby teleportation points, because you will have to return to this place later in the mission. The cells here are guarded by Trackers.
Getting Adam to his destination
After collecting 4 clusters of cells, go back to Adam. Now you have to take him to the research site - you will be teleported close to the target. On your way, defeat the enemies (Adam will help you), and then wait a while for the scientist to finish his work.
Finding Dex
Once Adam is ready, go to the Bastion and talk to Thialg. You will learn that Dex escaped from the Bastion. His location will be marked on the map. You've already collected one of the cell clusters in the area.
After reaching the destination, you will see a short cut-scene and then talk with Dex. After the conversation, go to Adam to complete the quest.
