Matrix - what is it?

Matrix is the basic raw material associated with technology development. Without it, you won't be able to get upgrades and unlock new buildings and resources. It is divided into several types, which are described below.

Electromagnetic (Blue) Matrix

The most basic of all the matrix types you'll be able to produce once you develop a technology called Electromagnetic matrix (second in order while completing the main plot).

To develop the technology to produce this matrix you need:

  1. 10 Magnetic Coil
  2. 10 Circuit Board

You need exactly the same raw materials to produce the finished blue matrix as you do to develop the technology.

The blue matrix production sequence is as follows:

  1. iron and copper mines
  2. smelter producing Iron Ingot and Copper Ingot
  3. an assembling machine that is producing Magnetic Coil and Circuit Board
  4. matrix lab

When delivering Magnetic Coil and Circuit Board to the Matrix Lab, you can use two techniques:

  1. feeding the building with two separate conveyor belts. This consumes more resources and space, but guarantees smooth deliveries;
  2. connecting a shared conveyor belt. It saves space and raw materials. The production speed is set so that Magnetic Coil and Circuit Board will alternate. However, the problem will occur when the raw material collection is too slow and the conveyor belt fills up. Then agglomeration of a single raw material can occur.

Energy (Red) Matrix

Second Matrix in order of unlocking. It is required for more advanced research.

To develop the technology to produce this matrix you need:

  1. 200 Electromagnetic (Blue) Matrix

The first leg of the red matrix production sequence is as follows:

  1. mine (mining machine)
  2. smelter producing energetic graphite
  3. matrix lab

The second line of the production chain is as follows:

  1. crude oil extractor
  2. oil refinery producing hydrogen
  3. matrix lab

In this case, it is definitely better to bet on two separate lines coming to the Matrix lab. This is because the two paths hook up to completely different buildings, making them hard to transport together.

Structure (Yellow) Matrix

The next Matrix in order to be unlocked. It is required for more advanced research.

To develop the technology to produce this matrix you need:

  1. 800 Electromagnetic (Blue) Matrix
  2. 800 Energy (Red) Matrix

The first leg of the yellow matrix production sequence is as follows:

  1. mine (mining machine)
  2. smelter producing energetic graphite
  3. assembling machine for diamond production
  4. matrix lab

The second line of the production chain is as follows:

  1. water pump
  2. assembling a machine that produces organic crystal
  3. titanium mine (mining machine)
  4. smelter producing titan ingot
  5. assembling machine producing titan crystal
  6. matrix lab

Information (Purple) Matrix

The next Matrix in order to be unlocked (at a similar stage to Yellow Matrix). It is required for more advanced research.

To develop the technology to produce this Matrix you need:

  1. 800 Electromagnetic (Blue) Matrix
  2. 800 Energy (Red) Matrix

To produce Purple Matrix you will need:

  1. Processor built with Circuit Board and Microcrystalline Component
  2. Particle Broadband composed of Crystal Sillicone, Carbon nanaotube and Plastic

Gravity (Green) Matrix

The penultimate Matrix to unlock. It is required to unlock the final part of the main branch of the technology tree.

To develop the technology to produce Green Matrix you need:

  1. 1600 Electromagnetic (Blue) Matrix
  2. 1600 Energy (Red) Matrix
  3. 1600 Structure (Yellow) Matrix

To make Green Matrix you need:

  1. A gravitational lens built with Diamond and Strange Matter
  2. Quantum chip composed of Plane filter and Processor

Universe (White) Matrix

Universe Matrix is sort of the culmination of the entire production tree. It is unlocked at the end of the game

To develop the technology to produce this matrix you need:

  1. 2000 Electromagnetic (Blue) Matrix
  2. 2000 Energy (Red) Matrix
  3. 2000 Structure (Yellow) Matrix
  4. 2000 Information (Purple) Matrix
  5. 2000 Gravity (Green) Matrix

To create a White Matrix you need:

  1. 1 Electromagnetic (Blue) Matrix
  2. 1 Energy (Red) Matrix
  3. 1 Structure (Yellow) Matrix
  4. 1 Information (Purple) Matrix
  5. 1 Gravity (Green) Matrix
  6. 1 Antimatter

Matrix Lab

All matrix cubes are manufactured exclusively at the Matrix Lab. This building operates in two modes - production and research. The first allows you to accumulate "stocks" that you can then use. If the building is operating in this mode, connect it to a warehouse that will collect the final product.

When you select research mode, the building will consume matrix cubes to automatically develop more technologies. In this case, you need to supply the raw material to the building.

It is important that you have as many buildings of this type as possible. This way, you will create an automated system in which part of the structure produces the matrix that is delivered to the test part.

Technologies - which ones to develop?

Dyson Sphere Program offers an extremely broad technology tree, allowing you to develop multiple designs that will make it much easier for you to grow your entire factory. Some of these improvements are definitely more important and require your attention early.

Such priority technologies can include a branch dedicated to the development of production lines. It allows you to create automated connections between buildings. This will eliminate the need for manual transport of raw materials. Over time, you will unlock access to more advanced tools that will let you create more sophisticated systems and speed up the process.

Another important branch of the technology tree is the Smelter and its enhancements. With it, you can create basic materials that are used to construct buildings, perform some research, and produce more advanced components.

Also, don't forget to develop new types of matrix cubes. These will be needed to unlock more advanced technologies. If you neglect this, you will hinder the development of the entire complex.
