This page of our game guide contains information about exploring the map in Dying Light 2. You'll learn what the map looks like, how you can traverse it, what's worth your attention, what activities you can engage in and how to efficiently discover as much of the world as possible.

Map size

The map from Dying Light 2 is four times larger than the one you might remember from Dying Light 1. This translates into even more additional content in the form of side quests and secrets.

Parkour and stamina

Parkour is similar to how it was in the first installment, but it differs in one key aspect. Stamina has been introduced in the game, which tends to make exploring the world much more difficult, especially at the start. Your character needs to rest, they can't hang on their arms for too long, because they will get tired and fall down. You have to act quickly, but carefully. It's worth looking around, because you might need to explore some areas that don't seem out of the ordinary at first.

Paraglider

Once you reach the neighborhood full of skyscrapers, you won't be able to jump from roof to roof. The paraglider will be useful, as it allows you to spontaneously jump straight down and glide over the city.

Using the environment

By completing tasks in the game world, you gain influence with various factions. Your relationship with a given group affects the world around you, e.g. in a given district, there will be traps or zip-lines that will help you move around the map.

Vehicles

There are no functional vehicles in Dying Light 2 that make it easier to explore freely. Your character needs to rely on their own arms and legs as well as the paraglider and the grappling hook.

A functional vehicle appears during the main missions, but it won't be available later in the game.
