In this section of our game guide to Dune Spice Wars we explain everything about Sietches. We will show you how to defend yourself against them, how to establish an alliance and how to attack them in order to be able to Pillage them and earn Solari.

What are Sietches?

When you take over the city, local militia units can (and usually will) try to recapture it. If they are successful, it will set the village to neutral status (they will no longer be under your control). Also, a short time penalty will be applied to capture it. The location of the rebel hideouts remains a mystery. However, they will not always liberate the nearest city. If their mission is successful, you can follow them with your eyes to find out the approximate location and see which areas need to be secured.

How to find Sietches?

Sietches locations are shrouded in mystery. However, you can physically track where the troops may have come from and secure the area.

Another, not very convenient, but effective method, is to defeat the warriors in a Sietch and leave one unit there to occupy the area. This is a bit problematic and a possibility of Pillaging the Sietch is rather tempting.

The third way, if you don't want to permanently dedicate your water resources to your alliance with the Sietch, is a temporary agreement to increase your reputation level. When it is high (max 100), the rebels will not attack you or they will attack you much less often (if <100). If you break the contract, their reputation will remain at the current high level and will slowly decline.

Alliance with a Sietch

However, you can ally yourself with the rebel troops. This can be done by finding their hideout first, then through establishing a trading alliance. It is quite a profitable business in many cases, but the main requirement is to have large sources of water - this is what is required, that is, 10 units of water for the indicated resources (each Sietch offers different resources at random).

The information panel has a counter on the right side, which shows the approval level. It grows over time as you maintain an alliance.

  1. The higher the number, the less likely you will be attacked.
  2. At 100 points you won't be attacked.
  3. If you resign, the level will drop, again increasing the chance of a Sietch attack.
  4. Using Arrakis Diplomacy (agent operation) immediately raises relations with a Sietch by 40 points , but also removes enemy rebel units from the region.
Reaching the maximum alliance level allows you to send one of your available agents to Sietch as an emissary - Dune Spice Wars: Sietches - Basics - Dune Spice Wars Guide

Reaching the maximum alliance level allows you to send one of your available agents to Sietch as an emissary. You can find out in advance what bonuses you can expect from this. Quite often, they can be worth a lot, but not for every faction or playstyle. However, you can always recall the emissary as soon as you need the agent back.

You can trade and increase your reputation with Sietch no matter where it is. However, if you want to establish a permanent alliance with them by sending an agent as consul, you must own the region where the Sietch is located.

Attacking and farming Sietches

You can try to attack Sietch, but this is not a solution that will allow you to get rid of them for good - Dune Spice Wars: Sietches - Basics - Dune Spice Wars Guide

You can try to attack Sietch, but this is not a solution that will allow you to get rid of them for good. Attacking the Sietch will instantly lower your reputation to -100. However, the attack has several dependencies:

  1. You can train your units in combat - there are 8 units in Sietch, but they are at the militia level.
  2. Sietch needs a few minutes to rebuild troops and cannot be the target of an attack during this time, nor is it sending troops for the offensive.
  3. Be careful though - the units that are dispatched don't affect how many units remain in the Sietch, so a quick counterattack won't be helpful here.
  4. After defeating the militia, you can Pillage the Sietch - thanks to this, you will earn approx. 1300 Solari .
  5. If you want to "farm" a Sietch, use the one that is close to the village. Build Rocket Batteries and an army of around 3 infantry and 4 area of damage units there.
