This page of our guide features a walkthrough for the quest Castaway, during which you'll meet the titular castaway. He'll ask you for help in reaching Little Marrow.
Unlocking the quest - talking to the Castaway
To start the quest, you must first find the castaway. He's on an island, right behind the Steel Point dock. We've marked his exact location on the map above.
When you reach the place, you'll see a makeshift tent and an SOS sign made out of wood. Swim closer, and once a symbol of a question mark in a circle appears, interact with the object (F on the PC, X on the PS, A on the Xbox).
Talk to the Castaway, who will appear immediately after interacting with the object. It doesn't matter which dialogue options you'll choose during this conversation. The last reply, "Yes, I'll take you to Little Marrow", is the most important. Select it to begin the quest.
Transporting the Castaway to Little Marrow
Place the Castaway's silhouette in the cargo hold and head to Little Marrow. The town is south of where you met the Castaway. It's not far away, but watch out not to damage the ship, as you're risking him falling overboard and failing the quest.
Make sure you can reach your destination during the day. This will make obstacles much easier to spot and you'll minimize the risk of monster attacks, created through high panic.
Once you arrive, the Castaway will automatically leave your cargo hold and thank you for your help. He'll also reward you with a Signet Ring. It's a Trinket you can sell to the Trader in Little Marrow. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any other properties. After the conversation, the quest will end.
