As a reminder, Doom 64 was a Doom port on Nintendo 64 and was originally released in 1997. The gameplay in Doom 64 is very similar to the first two parts of the Doom series which hit the shelves in 1993 and 1994. The hero travels through the maps built on the principle of labyrinths, and has to find access keys or secret switches to reach more chambers and corridors. Of course, all levels are filled with hordes of hellish demons and a rich set of amazing weapons that are very effective in eliminating evil beasts. In addition to the weapons familiar to fans of the series (Chainsaw, Rocket Launcher, Shotgun, Double-barreled Shotgun, Plasma Rifle, Chaingun, BFG and some other well-known guns), Doom 64 also features a unique laser-based weapon called Unmaker. There are about 30 levels to complete. Also, the game offers some hidden and secret levels.

You can get Doom 64 in two possible ways:

  1. Receive it for free - This is only possible if you have made a pre-order for Doom Eternal. In such case, you will receive a serial code that grants access to Doom 64.
  2. Buy it separately - the game is available on all platforms on which Doom Eternal was released, that is, PC, PS4 or XONE. The price of the Doom 64 is not that high - $ 4.99 / € 4.99.

After Doom 64 has been added to your account, you may find it in your game library. Doom Eternal and Doom 64 are installed separately, which means that you can only have one of them installed at any time. Both games also have to be launched separately.

Doom 64 is available for download from March 20, 2020 and requires about 100MB of free space on the hard drive.
