Challenges in the Cultist Base mission
This is the first time when a mission has additional challenges. Complete them to receive extra batteries at the end of the mission. This mission has three challenges:
- Pull the Crystal - You must get one sentinel crystal. Information about this challenge can be found on the page describing the secrets of this map.
- Armored Rain - Set fire to 4 monsters with a single fire explosion. This is best done on a group of weak enemies when they are standing close each other.
- Master of Turrets - you need to destroy Arachnotron's turret. You can do this using e.g. the Sticky Bomb upgrade for the shotgun.
Infiltrate The Cultist Base - Get the cultist key
You land on an icy planet. Jump into the abyss and turn to the right to get to the room below. Kill the Gargoyles, climb on the skeleton and jump toward the distant platform. You will be launched into the air - turn around and grab the wall next to you.
From here you can make a jump to the next wall, but keep an eye on the mines. Go to another area and defeat the demons. Go through the door and cross the energy bridge.
You will find yourself in a room with a monster and a hanging green button. If you shoot it, you will activate a trap and destroy the creatures. You can also use suspended mines. Go down the corridor and use the skull-shaped switch. The gate will open and then slam shut. The corridor will be full of enemies. Use traps and fight the opponents.
Then press the green button by standing on it, and fight a new enemy type - Mancubus. These enemies have powerful weapons mounted in their paws - they are also their weak spots. Aim at their weapons and destroy the shoulder guns to deprive the enemy of the flamethrower and weaken its power.
After you win, the door will open. Take the armor upgrade and shoot at a point on the wall. Now you have to make a jump to fit in time and slip through the slightly open cavity. Then grab the walls and fight more enemies.
At the top, grab the bar, jump on the chest and go to the other side. You get the cultists key - the entire tunnel is filled with enemies. Kill them.
Infiltrate The Cultist Base - Getting the Super Shotgun
Go to the previously closed area proceed forward. Enemies here are equipped with energy shields. You can overcharge them and cause an explosion - shoot the shields with the plasma rifle.
After the battle, jump on the wall next to the chasm, then use the jump pad and get on the suspended ledge. Shoot the button and quickly dash into the open passage. Destroy the grid and jump down to get the rocket launcher. This weapon is essential for fighting groups of enemies and slow armored demons. Try out the new toy on a wave of enemies.
After the fight, enter the ventilation hatch and hit your fist to pick up the bar. Jump on it, jump further, then turn and repeat the jump to grab the wall.
At the top, you will pick up the rune. Jump on the suspended platform and then jump to the other side, above the wall you just climbed. You find a switch - use it. A big wave of enemies will appear.
Step on the green button and go through the door that you just opened. Keep moving forward until you reach the room with a chest - use your fist on it to push it. Jump on it, jump to the shelves located above and reach hook chains - destroy them. Do this, and you will open a passage leading further.
There are many enemies on the square. After the battle, go inside the majestic building and take the elevator. You will reach a large area with cultists. Kill them and pick up the blue orb from the inside. Go to the passageway and then up.
When you are at the top, destroy the chain with your fist and use the switch. You will encounter a new enemy - Cueball. This enemy acts in such a way that when it gets shot, it flies in a given direction and detonates upon contact with the environment. You can use it to hurt groups of enemies. You will find a difficult crossing with a bunch of strong enemies, including Harpies.
Finally, take the elevator and keep walking through the corridors until you reach the room with the red discharges. Jump down and use the dash to grab the walls. Then use the switch and get an upgrade for your hero.
Keep going until you reach the lowered doors on both sides of the chamber. Go to the door that goes down and reach the corridor below. Jump on the box and hit the switch, shoot the green button, then jump from the bar upwards. Reach the climbing wall. Jump into the passage with the armor, and you will move up.
At the top, deal with the enemies and go to the room where the marker leads you. You will have to swing on a few bars. After some time, you reach the room where your hero will take control of a demon.
You have to kill a few enemies as a Revenant. You have a powerful launcher and strong attacks - you shouldn't have problems with killing them. After that, use the jetpack and fly up to the platform to pick up the Super Shotgun. Return the weapon to the hero.
Infiltrate the Cultist Base - Way to the train
Climb the green switch and take the elevator down. You will end up in a chamber with cells - destroy more chains and fight enemies. Inside you will find various enemies - open all the cells and defeat the demons.
Jump down into the opening. You are in a corridor with demons and traps. Eventually, you will reach the elevator and take it up.
In the next chamber, you have to turn so that you can jump on the wall below, and then swing on the bars to reach the switch. Now use the activated jump pad to jump on top of the chest and then jump to another room.
Shoot the green button and move on before the gate is closed. Jump on the walls up - you will have to fight several opponents. At the top, go through the gate, and after a while, you will see a wall with spikes.
Shoot the button immediately after the spikes are moving away from each other, and aim the jump so that you will able to fall down, pass through an open passage and grab the wall. You will reach the room with demons and tentacles - eliminate them.
You will reach a mine and the green button. Stand on the box and shoot the button to go to the top level. At the top, you will find a bunch of demons that you must defeat.
Time for a puzzle. You must jump down, use the column again to get up, and then quickly press the switch on top to let a ray of light pass through the hole in the column. The gate will open - continue the journey.
Defeat the demons in the corridor and stand on the green button to open a further passage. You will find yourself in a spacious room with a chest - use the bar next to the niche to jump on the wall and grab it. Then jump to the other side and jump on the cage, move along it and jump past the big chest. Hit it with your fist to reveal jump pad. Use it to jump to the crucified demon and hit it to knock down the cross.
Go further and take the elevator down. Stand on the green button and cross the bridge. You will get to a large location with a lot of demons. Fight the enemies, and after the victory, enter the train to start the next mission - Doom Hunter Base.
