Boss: Mundus - first part of an encounter | 19: Face of the Demon DMC: Devil May Cry Guide

The first part of an encounter with Mundus is the longest one, in which you have to eliminate two bars of health. They stand for energy of two upper limbs of boss. Spend some time to get to know with all main attacks of Mundo. The most common one is to make a strong blow with his upper limbs. Every time you see that he tries to attack you like that, start running on the arena and make an evade from a red point which marks the place where the Mundus hits.

From time to time, he'll make a stronger type of this attack, which are three blows in the row. Evade as the normal one, and make three perfect dodges.

Another variety is a simultaneous blow of two fists in the roof. In this case your task is easier. You just need to jump over a shockwave (1st screen above). Do the same when the boss creates a shockwave from left to right (2nd screen). In this case making a perfect double jump may be harder.

Completely other attack is throwing fireballs at you. To avoid them, you need to dodge just after he throws a fireball (not when he's preparing to the throw).

At the end few words about his most unique attack - covering a roof with a lava. In such case you need to act as during the fight with Succubus. Find quickly an interactive point (Boost Ring) and use an Angel Lift to get onto a next roof.

Now, your turn to attack. Notice that after every Mundus' attack with upper limbs, he stays uncovered for a while. Pull to him with Angel Lift and make strong blows weakening one of his arms.

Continue attacks and evade boss' actions. Destroy one of Mundus' limbs (1st screen). Use a Demon Pull at his eye (2nd screen).

Resume attacking - boss' behavior doesn't change. This time focus on the other arm. When it's done, use a Demon Pull on his eye again.
