In Disco Elysium, as in other RPGs, a roll of the dice is used to test the character's abilities to determine if they successfully complete an action. There are two types of skill tests in Disco Elysium - Passive and Active.

Over the course of the game, Harrier will be subjected to many tests, some of which will be particularly difficult and likely to fail. However, there is nothing to be afraid of, because in this game, Disco Elysium, It is possible to repeat some failed skill tests if a certain condition is met.

1. White Skill Checks: can be retaken when you increase the level of a specific skill (related to the test) by at least 1 point or after researching specific thoughts;
2. Red Skill Checks: these tests cannot be repeated.
