Necromance Call of the Underworld is a quest to unlock golems for the necromancer in Diablo 4. In our guide, you will learn how to pass the necromancer quest from level 25 and how to set the golem summoning on the skill bar.

One of the most important Necromancer quests in Diablo 4 is Necromancer: Call of the Underworld, received at level 25. Our guide shows where to meet the necromancer Maltorius, how to reach the cave with the Jar of Souls, and how to unlock golem summoning. Finally, we explain how to assign golem summoning ability to the action bar.

Rewards for completing the quest

1. Golem summoning unlocked - from this moment, Necromancer can summon golems and the spell will appear in the Book of the Dead;
2. Rare Amulet;
3. XP and gold.

Unlocking the quest

You need to get your Necromancer to level 25 first. Only then Call of the Underworld quest will appear in Priority Quest tab.

Start by visiting Shrine of Rathma - activate quest tracking so you find the location easily. The shrine is north-west from Kyovashad. After interacting with the shrine, talk to Maltorius - the master necromancer.

Collecting Unbroken Bone

Unbroken Bone, getting of which is your next objective, can be looted from skeletons appearing nearby the Shrine of Rathma. Your task is to get as much as 12 Unbroken Bones.

Finding the cave with the artifact

Another objective, Vile Artifact, can be found in Bitter Cave which is west from Menestad.

Opening the Jar of Souls

The artifact you're found, Jar of Souls, has to be filled with the souls of the opponents - defeat the monsters that appear in the cave until the red bar is full.

Maltorius will appear in the cave - talk to him again.

Assigning golem summoning to the action bar

This concludes the quest, but you still need to assign golem summoning to the action bar.

1. If you're playing on PC, press the S key.
2. If you are playing on a console or on a gamepad, press the Options button, go to the Abilities tab and press the left analog stick. The menu for assigning skills to buttons will be displayed.

The golem icon is at the bottom and needs to be assigned to one of the action bar slots, so you'll have to remove some other ability. Skeletons and golems are summoned with separate buttons.

From now on, you can summon a golem to follow the necromancer and help in battles. You can have both skeletons and golems summoned at the same time (different abilities).
