Destiny 2: Hunter - character classes Destiny 2 Guide

In this chapter you will find a detailed description of the Hunter class. All of his sub-classes, their super-skills and class skills have been described here.

The Hunter is a class that specializes in inflicting injuries quickly. Hunters are agile and move swiftly on the battlefield. What distinguishes it from other classes is the ability to double or even triple the jump and perform quick dodges. Below you will find the full skill trees of the two available Hunter subclasses.

Arcstrider

Arcstrider is an extremely offensive subclass of the Hunter that can stay at the middle of the battlefield and eliminate opponents by using a powerful Arc Staff. Arcstrider also has incredible mobility, making him hard to hit in direct contact.

Arcstrider - Super Ability

  1. Arc Staff - conjure a staff powered by arc light, and defeat your enemies in an acrobatic-sort of way.

Arcstrider - Class ability

  1. Marksman's Dodge - allows you to perform a dodge. It automatically reloads the weapon.
  2. Gambler's Dodge - allows you to roll and avoid enemy attacks. Dodging near enemies restores the ability of melee attack.

Arcstrider - Jumps

  1. High jump - jump a second time while in the air to jump higher.
  2. Strafe jump - jump a second time while in the air to have a greater effect on the direction of flight.
  3. Triple jump - while in the air, you can maintain control of your flight with a second or third jump.

Arcstrider - Grenades

  1. Skip Grenade - disintegrates upon impact, creating multiple projectiles that seek enemies.
  2. Flux Grenade - inflicts additional damage when attached to an enemy.
  3. Arcbolt Grenade - strikes with a chain of lightning at nearby enemies.

Arcstrider - passive abilities

By selecting a Hunter subclass called the Arcstrider, you will have access to three different passive skill sets: Way of the Warrior, Way of the Wind and Way of the Current.

Way of the Warrior

  1. Deadly Reach - Dodging increases the range of melee combat abilities, so you can attack opponents farther away;
  2. Lethal Current - Arc Staff attacks hit twice after performing a dodge.
  3. Combination Blow - Kill the enemy with melee attack to begin restoring health and temporarily increase the damage you inflict in melee combat;
  4. Combat Flow - melee kills renew your Dodge ability.

Way of the Wind

  1. Disorienting Blow - striking an enemy with this melee attack confuses him and all enemies standing in his vicinity;
  2. Focused Breathing - sprinting is faster and it reduces dodge cooldown;
  3. Battle Meditation - when critically wounded, melee and grenade skills recharge faster than normally;
  4. Lightning Reflexes - take less damage while dodging.

Way of the Current

  1. Whirlwind Guard - allows you to reflect incoming projectiles and increases the Arc Staff damage;
  2. Tempest Strike - after performing a slide, you can activate a powerful uppercut strike;
  3. Lightning Weave - melee attacks greatly increase weapon reloading speed;
  4. Ebb and Flow - by causing Arc-type injuries to opponents, you confuse them, and in addition you recharge the grenade, melee attack and dodge abilities.

Gunslinger

Gunslingers prefer the use of firearms and have mastered this art to perfection. Shooters reload their weapons faster, fire much more precisely and are extremely effective at eliminating targets from a long range.

Gunslinger - Super ability

  1. Golden Gun - summon a flaming gun that disintegrates enemies with Solar Light

Gunslinger - Class ability

  3. Tripmine Grenade - a trap-grenade that attaches to the surface and explodes when the opponents collide with its laser beam.

Gunslinger - Passive abilities

By selecting the Gunslinger subclass of Hunter you will have access to three different sets of passive skill: Way of the Outlaw, Way of the Sharpshooter, Way of a Thousand Cuts.

Way of the Outlaw

  1. Explosive Knife - throw a knife that explodes shortly after impact;
  2. Chains of Woe - precision kills increase weapon reload speed for you and nearby allies;
  3. Deadshot - significantly improves your ability to hit with Golden Gun
  4. Six-Shooter - Golden Gun can be fired quickly up to six times, but has a shorter duration.

Way of a Thousand Cuts

  1. Blade Barrage - jump into the air and throw a series of solar-charged, explosive knives;
  2. Knife Trick - a character throws a fan of burning knives that set opponents on fire after being hit;
  3. Playing with Fire - this ability makes your dodge recharge much faster when your opponents are on burning;
  4. Playing with Fire - killing burning enemies recharges your Knife Trick melee.

Way of the Sharpshooter

  1. Knife-Juggler - throw a knife from a certain distance. Precision kills performed by using this ability automatically recharge it;
  2. Practice Makes Perfect - every precise hit puts you in a trance that shortens the time to renew your super-ability;
  3. Crowd-Pleaser - enables precision damage with Golden Gun. Precision hits with Golden Gun generate Orbs of Light;
  4. Line 'em Up - Precision hits with Golden Gun increase its damage and extend its duration.

Nightstalker

Nightstalkers are extremely cunning hunters who can surprise their prey and perform stealth kills. During combat, they have access to the powerful Void energy with which they cause enormous damage, and can also disappear from opponents' field of view.

Nightstalker - Super Ability

  1. Shadowshot - launches a non-lethal Void Anchor that slows down affected enemies, causes them to take more damage, and prevents them from using abilities. He uses a bow - a precision shot (performed from the third person) is required.

Tracker - Class ability

  1. Marksman's Dodge - perform a dodge to outmaneuver opponents. Automatically reloads the weapon;
  2. Gambler's Dodge - perform a dodge to roll around and avoid enemy attacks. Dodging near enemies recharges the melee ability.

Nightstalker - Jumps

  1. High jump - jump again in the air to jump higher;
  2. Strafe jump - jump in the air to have a greater control of the direction of flight and gain slight acceleration;
  3. Triple jump - in the air you can maintain control of flight and altitude by performing two additional jumps.

Nightstalker - Grenades

  1. Vortex Grenade - creates a vortex at the point of impact that inflicts damage over time on enemies within its range for a short period of time;
  2. Spike Grenade - the grenade attaches itself to any surface (including the enemy) and emits a stream of Void Light that causes heavy damage;
  3. Voidwall Grenade - it creates a Void Light wall that injures anyone who touches it.

Nightstalker - Passive abilities

By selecting a Nightstalker subclass of Hunter, you will have access to three different passive skill sets: Way of the Trapper, Way of the Pathfinder, Way of the Wraith.

Way of the Trapper

  1. Snare Bomb - drop a smoke bomb that attaches to the surface and detonates when enemies approach, slowing and disorienting them;
  2. Keen Scout - sprint and sneak faster and obtain a tracking device. Stranded enemies will be marked, allowing you to track them;
  3. Deadfall - Void Anchors fired by a Shadowshot (super-ability) turn into traps that await their prey. Void Anchors have greater range and longer duration;
  4. Vanishing Step - dodging makes you disappear for a while.

Way of the Wraith

  1. Spectral Blades - a character can sneak around in the shadows and use two murderous Void blades;
  2. Corrosive Smoke - you can use a smoke bomb to slow down opponents and injure them;
  3. Shattering Strike - perform a melee attack shortly after activating Flawless Execution and the target will become weaker;
  4. Flawless Execution - when you crouch, Precision Kills provide invisibility, Full Vision and increased range of melee combat.

Way of the Pathfinder

  1. Vanish in Smoke - drop a smoke bomb that, when hit, produces a toxic cloud which injures and confuses enemies;
  2. Lockdown - the effects of grenades and smoke last twice as long, allowing to control the area and inflict more damage;
  3. Heart of the Pack - killing tethered enemies creates Orbs of Light, increases your mobility, regeneration, and resistance and of your nearby allies;
  4. Moebius Quiver - Fire Shadowshoot multiple times. The Shadowshoot inflicts enormous damage on the entangled enemy.
