This page of the guide to Deathloop has a walkthrough of Visionary Lead / mission Lost in Transmission. The walkthrough explains how to locate and defeat Egor Serling in his camp, where to find Egor's data, how to remove the disguise from the device, how to use the panel to disable the device properly, and how to eliminate Egor during the costume ball.
- Unlocking the mission

- Killin Egor Serling at masquerade
Unlocking the mission
You will be able to start the described lead after completing Colt's prologue - The Longest Day The mission will appear in your journal after looting a safe in an apartment in the Updaam district and finding a document with the personal information and whereabouts of 8 Visionaries (bosses and main antagonists). However, we advise you to proceed with this task after you complete the Ubiquity mission. This will allow you to use the Residuum to keep the powers, weapons, and other equipment acquired during the expeditions permanently.
To deal with the described lead, you need to visit the Complex district in the evening.
Egor conducts experiments behind the bunker, and when exploring the Complex in the evening, you will have to go longer to reach Egor's Camp. You have two options:
1) Choose a path that bypasses the bunker - unfortunately, it involves encountering turrets (you can hack them) and numerous traps. The most problematic are proximity mines, which can easily be overlooked. To avoid laser traps, it is easiest to use Shift (teleportation).
2) Choosing a path through the bunker - In this case, you will encounter opponents and security systems' cameras and turrets. The main exit from the bunker is guarded most. The alternative is to go through a narrow side tunnel (picture above), but it is full of traps, and you would have to be very careful to disarm or avoid them.
If you reach the camp without setting off alarms, you will have an opportunity to attack Egor by surprise. Otherwise, the Visionary will be expecting your arrival. If there is a confrontation, expect Egor to use camouflage.. He won't be completely invisible, so try to keep an eye out for him so that you can attack him or be ready to repel his attacks when he disables his camouflage.
You can take away Aether Slab by defeating Egor - a camouflage, which is a very useful supernatural ability that lets you infiltrate locations without being noticed.
Find Egor's data
Approach the building near which Egor initially stayed. It is a two-floor Egor's laboratory (Serling Labs), and despite the closed doors, you can explore the insides by smashing shutters.
In the laboratory, you can find various collectibles, as well as Minicom with recorded messages. The most important is a note (Radial Fluctuations) from the picture above, which is attached to a large map. You will learn about Egor's device and get to know his number - however, it is randomly generated (in our case, it was f824).
Silence Egor's device
You'll have to return to the Complex the next day so leave this location. You can choose any time except the evening because it is about exploring the camp when Egor is not there.
Get to the Egor's camp where, instead of the Visionary, you will meet ordinary opponents. Eliminating them isn't mandatory. You have to find a machine that has been camouflaged - the picture above shows it. Try to interact with it.
Unveil the invisible panel
Go back to the laboratory building - this time, beware of laser traps. Touching them can activate turrets inside the rooms. You can deal with it in two ways:
- use Shift to get into rooms without touching the lasers,
- stand at the windows and hack turrets from given rooms (in one room, there can be up to two turrets).
In one of the rooms of Egor's laboratory, you will find Field Nullifier. Take one of these with you.
With the nullifier, get near the invisible machine. Hold the interaction button to deploy nullifier. It neutralizes the supernatural powers so the camouflage will disappear and the panel becomes visible.
Shut down device
You can now approach the panel and proceed to solve the puzzle. You have to enter the correct device number (for a reminder, you could read it in the Finding Egor's data subsection in our walkthrough). At the very end, press the big red button.
Killin Egor Serling at masquerade
The described lead should be marked as completed at this point, and the whole point of the steps before was for Egor to appear at the costume ball organized by Aleksis. It's about being able to kill both Visionaries in the same location.
You can find the description of the costume ball and infiltration of the castle on the page with the Devouring of the Lambs walkthrough. For a reminder, you have to reach Updaam district in the evening.
Note - make sure that when choosing Upadaam, there are icons and description of two Visionaries - Aleksis and Egor. If you do not go to the ball on the same day that you sabotaged the f824 device, Egor will not appear there in the following days. You will have to repeat the last step - reach the invisible machine, expose it, and enter the combination.
A safe way to get to the castle is to use a path that runs along the wall and allows you to reach the side shutters.
In the case of Aleksis, nothing changes. You can unmask and kill him in the same way as in the mission Devouring of the Lambs.
Egor is on one of the upper floors of the castle, and you can use Shift to get to him - thanks to this power, you will be able to teleport to the next shelves and fragments of the roof of the castle.
The room in which Egor is you will recognize by the force field. It means that the Field Nullifier is active, which prevents using power while remaining within its range. If you want to get rid of Egor in a direct fight, you can use a powerful firearm or deliberately raise the alarm and wait until Egor runs out of the room.
You can also get rid of the Visionary by deception. Look around the Visionary room, and you'll find a small hole patched with boards. After destroying the boards, you can hit the tank with poisonous gas shown in the picture with a firearm.
