High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell Dead Cells Guide

Last update: 28 August 2018

The following chapter includes information on High Peak Castle. Here, you can learn more about this location, threats and enemies that you can come across, see where you can go from here and what requirements you have to fulfill in order to do that.

Characteristics of the location

High Peak Castle is a biome level 6 location - High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

High Peak Castle is a biome level 6 location. Here, you will come across the strongest and the most problematic enemies in the entire game. You must be very careful here if you don't want to die and start the game from the beginning. Extreme caution is recommended in rooms with Inquisitors, Guardian Knights and traps placed near the enemies.

You need to find more keys. 2 Key to the Castle are necessary to unlock the room with the final boss. These keys are carried by certain elite enemies - you can access their lairs by going through the colored doors. When you find one of these doors, you can go through them to reach a separate part of the castle. After that you can start searching for an elite monster with a key - these enemies are in small areas (these arenas are closed during fights).

The keys are carried by a Thorny, a Dark Tracker (you have to defeat two of these enemies), and a Slasher. The last monster is the most problematic one. His lair can be accessed through the blue doors. You can recognize a Slasher's lair by large tanks with monsters inside of them - they are presented in the picture above. An elite Slasher deals massive damage. A successful hit also inflicts Malaise. A good way to win this fight is to place traps and either dodge or parry his attacks with a shield. However, you don't have to fight with this enemy. There are 3 keys in total but you need only 2. You can choose which monsters you want to face - during your first few playthroughs you should ignore a Slasher and go for a Thorny and two Dark Trackers. These monsters are easier to defeat although they can still inflict negative statuses on you.

After getting at least 2 keys, you have to search for 2 locked doors (they are next to each other) - High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

After getting at least 2 keys, you have to search for 2 locked doors (they are next to each other). Open them to reach the only exit from the castle.

With all 3 keys you can open an additional secret room - presented in the picture above. Among the things that you can find there the most valuable one is Boomerang blueprint. However, reaching this blueprint requires you to perform a few precise jumps and to use the Spider Rune. Besides the blueprint, you can also get an additional scroll and a few pieces of equipment.

Enemies and other threats

High Peak Castle isn't diverse when it comes to the types of monsters. However, the majority of them is very problematic. Besides the regular enemies, you will also have to defeat at least two elite monsters (more about them on the top of the page). You can also come across other elite enemies spawned randomly in the castle.

Note! The list below consists of monsters encountered on the normal difficulty level. Boss Stem Cells, received by defeating the final boss, unlock higher difficulties. After that, you can come across new and more powerful versions of the monsters.

Appearance

Name

Description

Inquisitor - High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

Inquisitor

This enemy shoots projectiles that move in a certain direction ignoring walls, floors and other obstacles. Because of that you can have problems with avoiding these projectiles. This also means that you can get surprised by it. Try to always get closer to an Inquisitor and defeat him with melee weapons.

Note - Inquisitors in High Peak Castle are usually found near traps. Avoid spikes when you are trying to get closer to these enemies.

Guardian Knight - High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

Guardian Knight

A very dangerous enemy. His basic attack creates a tornado that pulls the player towards it to deal massive damage. Move away from this monster as soon as you notice that he is about to use this move (the tornado can "pull down" the hero if he stands on a platform that is slightly above the one on which a tornado was created) and wait until it disappears. Also, this tornado can damage turrets and other traps (at this point of the game you should be able to restore them fast).

Lancer - High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

Lancer

A Lancer can attack the hero when he is on a platform located above or below this enemy. Remember about that - you don't want to be surprised by this move. In close range combat, Lancers use combos with up to 3 hits. These attacks can be difficult to dodge; therefore, you should rely more on ranged attacks or, e.g. you can freeze them before you get closer to Lancers.

Catcher - High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

Catcher

Irritating monsters that can catch and pull your character towards them. You can dodge their attacks by jumping and rolling. However, using ranged weapons, grenades or traps is a much better idea.

Dark Tracker - High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

Dark Tracker

Note - These enemies encountered in High Peak Castle are the elite versions.

Dark Trackers can teleport and appear behind your back. Rely on traps. Also, you have to avoid their melee attacks - they can inflict a disease.

Slasher - High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

Slasher

Note - These enemies encountered in High Peak Castle are the elite versions.

Slashers are dangerous enemies. They wield a huge sword and can use up to three attacks in a row. The last attack is the most problematic - it deals the biggest damage and has the longest reach. Parry their attacks with your shield, use ranged weapons or traps.

Thorny - High Peak Castle level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

Thorny

Note - These enemies encountered in High Peak Castle are the elite versions.

The main source of problems while fighting with these enemies are spikes on their back because they can damage you when you are attacking with a melee weapon. The best solution is to use ranged weapons, powers, grenades or traps. Luckily for you, Thorny doesn't have a lot of health points.

Subsequent locations

High Peak Castle has only one exit that leads to the Throne Room. To get there you need to obtain at least two keys from elite enemies. The Throne Room is the place where you will face the game's final boss (Hand of the King).
