How do I reach the Forgotten Sepulcher?

The Forgotten Sepulcher dungeon is initially unavailable. There are as many as three paths leading to it. The earliest you can get to this location is through Stilt Village, but the hero must have the Teleportation Rune. Alternatively, you can reach the dungeon later from Slumbering Sanctuary or Graveyard, the latter location requiring you to have the Spider Rune. If you have chosen the path from Stilt Village, you must first find one of the Village Keys located there and take it to the underground. Along the way, you will need to use the Teleportation Rune by interacting with a sarcophagus. Ultimately, you need to reach the underground location where the key is used - the first place of this type is shown in picture 1 (the corridor layout is random). Unlocking the passage will allow you to use the elevator to reach the entrance to Forgotten Sepulcher (example is shown in picture 2).

Note - The Village Key in the Stilt Village can only be used to unlock one of two passages. If you want to reach Forgotten Sepulcher then do not use the key at the end of the map to unlock the entrance to the Clock Tower (the key disappears from the inventory after using).

Forgotten Sepulcher is one of the two biome level 5 locations, but it is more demanding than the Clock Tower described on the previous page. The dungeon is covered in darkness - staying too long in a place without light causes the hero to start losing health points. The only solution to this problem is to quickly reach other potential light sources. This will stop the process of losing health and strengthen the character, so that when you enter the darkness again, you will not lose health points immediately.

There are two types of light sources to be found while exploring the dungeon. Lamps that appear near the unlocked teleports are more "stable". They shine brighter and you can return to them as many times as you like. The other source of light are smaller lamps found in corridors - an example is shown in the picture above. They emit less light and will break after a certain time. Treat them as stops on the way to the next teleport.

The uniqueness of this stage makes it impossible to explore it at a leisurely pace. You can't slowly explore the corridors because you won't be able to reach the next light source. You have to act like you were trying to get to a timed door - rely on aggressive combat techniques and check the location's map regularly. It will allow you to locate the most important treasures and passages. Also, the game is automatically paused when you open the full-screen map. Of course, it is worth to try to reach all the most important areas of the dungeon, but each expedition should be planned, and you always look for light sources above all else. After you light a new lamp, you can often go back a bit and search for areas you've had to ignore before.

Just like other locations of this type, Forgotten Sepulcher allows you to encounter traders and elite monsters. Try to pull the elite close to the teleporters - fights with them take longer than with regular enemies. There are also new timed doors in this location and they remain open for 26 minutes from the moment the game starts. After this time the door will close for good and you will lose the possibility to reach the hidden treasures. In a secret zone you will find a variety of prizes. These can be jewels, gold, Cells, scrolls or unique weapons.

Leaving the Forgotten Sepulcher is neither an obvious nor an easy task, because you need to get at least 2 Crypt Keys. They can be found in random areas in the dungeon - the picture shows an example. Expect traps to be placed near the keys. These items can often be found by going through sarcophaguses (use the Teleportation Rune) and weakened floor sections (use the Ram Rune).

You can find another closed door and by using up additional 2 keys you can unlock the access to the secret room with the Hayabusa Boots blueprint (picture 2).

Enemies and other threats

In Forgotten Sepulcher you'll meet both weaker and stronger opponents. The fact that you often have to hurry, forces you to fight more aggressively and expose the hero to greater danger. You should not try to eliminate 100% of the monsters from the dungeon at any cost. If a monster is strong and away from light sources, it is a better idea not to take the risk and avoid it.

Note! The list below consists of monsters encountered on the normal difficulty level. Boss Stem Cells, received by defeating the final boss, unlock higher difficulties. After that, you can come across new and more powerful versions of the monsters.

Kamikaze

They are very dangerous flying creatures. By default, they will be at rest (you can see them attached e.g. to the ceiling) and will become active after the hero approaches them. Kamikaze, according to its name, flies to the hero and commits suicide by exploding. If you don't manage to escape quickly, you will be very badly injured. Quickly kill these monsters with melee or ranged weaponry (ideally, use an electric whip that can automatically target nearby enemies).

Inquisitor

This enemy shoots bullets that fly in a certain direction ignoring walls, floors and other obstacles. As a result, avoiding them may be more difficult and you may be surprised by this type of attack more easily. Always try to get as close to the Inquisitor as possible and defeat him in close combat when he is practically defenseless.

Dark Tracker

These monsters aren't that powerful. However, they can teleport and appear behind your back. They can also start tracking you if you decide to escape. Prepare yourself before you start fighting with Dark Trackers, e.g. place a few traps on a large platform. Lure this enemy to your traps so you can defeat him easier.

Shocker

This mechanical-looking enemy doesn't move. However, it emits powerful electric charges periodically. The game will inform you when a Shocker is about to use its attack. Run away from this monster because its attack can deal you a lot of electric damage. The best way to eliminate these enemies is to use ranged attacks or you can quickly run towards them when their attack stops working. With a bit of a luck, you should be able to kill a Shocker before it charges up again.

Lacerator

These monsters are very easy to recognize by their characteristic headgear. They are dangerous creatures that can quickly deprive the hero of a large number of health points. The main attack of the Lacerators is to turn itself into a tornado, which attacks everything on its way. You can block this ability if you have a shield, but it is safer to scatter some traps or move away from the monster and either wait for his attack to end or start using a ranged weapon.

Cleaver

These monsters are equipped with a powerful axe, which they can throw at the hero. This weapon works like a boomerang - it returns to the enemy after a throw. The attack is signaled and "charged" by the monster - this gives you some time to run away. Get behind its back or scatter traps. If the axe has been thrown and you haven't managed to escape, try double jumping or parrying with a shield. Killing Cleavers never comes easily, because these monsters have a long health bar. The good news is that they are susceptible to negative statuses, including freezing.

Subsequent locations

The only way out from the Forgotten Sepulcher leads to the Clock Room. The passage is located behind the two doors opened with the Crypt Keys. This exit leads to the arena with the second boss fight of the game (The Time Keeper).
