Characteristics of the location
The Black Bridge can be accessed during your first few playthroughs. This location doesn't have any rooms or dungeons that you can explore. There is only one reason to visit this place - to defeat the first main boss, The Concierge. Throughout this fight the bridge will have invisible barriers at its both ends. They disappear when you kill The Concierge.
The fight with The Concierge isn't mandatory during every playthrough. This monster is treated as the first default boss. Instead, you can be forced to defeat another alternate first boss, Conjunctivius. This fight happens when you decide to go through Toxic Sewers and Ancient Sewers. This path leads to Insufferable Crypt, Conjunctivius' lair. During your playthrough you can face only one of these two bosses.
After defeating The Concierge you can go to a safe zone that differs from other areas of this type. Below you can read about its unique features:
- Legendary forge (the picture above) - Spend Cells on unique permanent upgrades, e.g. increased chance to find high quality gear in the game's world. Legendary forges can only be found after defeating bosses. Using them isn't mandatory. You can save your Cells for a "regular" blacksmith.
- Timed doors - The only way to open them is to reach said doors within 15 minutes. If you are too late, the doors will close for good. Inside, you can find various treasures, e.g. jewels, gold, Cells, scrolls or unique weapons.
Enemies and other threats
