Trophy list in Dead Cells Dead Cells Guide

Last update: 21 August 2018

On this page you will find a list of all the achievements that can be unlocked in Dead Cells. There are 53 achievements in the PC and the Xbox One versions of the game, and the PS4 version offers 54 trophies (1 platinum, 1 gold, 11 silver and 41 bronze). Each trophy in our guide has a description of the requirements for unlocking it. Some achievements with more complicated procedures are described on separate pages of the guide.

General information concerning the achievements in Dead Cells

  1. Getting a platinum trophy in Dead Cells is very challenging. At least a few of the trophies require great reflexes and skills, especially those awarded for defeating bosses without receiving any damage or finishing the game on higher difficulty levels. Another challenge is that in case of defeat, you will have to restart the game without your current equipment.
  2. You cannot miss any achievement. Death is a normal thing in Dead Cells, but you should obviously try to lose as few blueprints and cells as possible.
  3. Dead Cells doesn't feature a multiplayer mode. All trophies are obtained in a solo campaign.
  4. Obtaining achievements for boss fights is easier if you copy your saves before the fights. This is only possible on PC and PS4 - if you happen to die, you can reload the game and fight again. Use this method only later in the game, when you have more blueprints and permanent upgrades.
  5. It's hard to estimate how much time is required for obtaining all trophies. A lot depends on your performance. If you want the Platinum, however, then we're probably talking a few hundred playthroughs and a few dozen hours with the game.

A Room with a View!

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach the Ramparts.

Notes: It's a simple trophy. The Ramparts, in other words the castle walls, can be reached from the Promenade of the Condemned. You don't have to possess any runes to be able to get there.

Absolution

Trophy type: brown

How to unlock: Lift the curse off your character.

Note: A detailed description of how to unlock this trophy can be found in the next section of this walkthrough.

Afraid of the Dark?

Trophy type: bronze - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach the Forgotten Sepulcher.

Notes: Access to this location is initially blocked. There are several different ways leading to it, but the first time you can get to it is when you acquire the Teleportation Rune (see the description of the What Are You Rubbing At Anyway? achievement).

After you get the teleportation rune, start exploring the Stilt Village, where you have to find the Village Key. Once you have it, get to the underground, interact with the sarcophagus ( teleportation rune) and use the key to open the door in the underground (an example of this type of door is shown on the picture above - the layout of corridors is always random). The newly unlocked passage will allow you to reach the entrance to the dungeon of Forgotten Sepulcher.

Note - Do not use the Village Key at the very end of the map, because in that case you will be moved to the Clock Tower instead. There's only 1 key to be found in the whole village, and as a result you can only gain access to one of the two aforementioned locations.

Other ways to get to the Forgotten Sepulcher are by going through a passage in either the Slumbering Sanctuary or the Graveyard. However, both of these locations can only be visited after you have acquired the Spider Rune.

Arriba, Arriba! Andale, Andale!

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Open your first timed door.

Notes: A detailed description of how to unlock this trophy can be found on a dedicated page of our guide.

Artful Extraction

Trophy type: brown

How to unlock: You have to acquire the third Boss Stem Cell.

Note: In order to unlock this trophy you have to complete the game with the second Boss Stem Cell active - i.e. on a higher difficulty level. The third Boss Stem Cell appears together with a loot after you defeat the Hand of the King, the final boss.

Bend the Knee? I Think Not...

Trophy type: bronze - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach the Throne Room.

Notes: The Throne Room is the final location of Dead Cells, where the duel with the boss The Hand of the King is fought. The throne room is accessible from the High Peak Castle. When exploring the castle, you must have at least two Keys to the Castle and find a place to use them (an example of this type of location is shown on the picture - the layout of corridors and rooms is always random). Each key is in possession of an elite monster/-s and this means you'll have to fight at least two demanding battles.

Blade Master

Trophy type: brown - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: brown

How to unlock: You have to defeat The Time Keeper boss.

Note: The Time Keeper is the second "main" boss in Dead Cells. He can be found in the Clock Room which you can reach from the Clock Tower or Forgotten Sepulcher. See the chapter on Bosses in this walkthrough to learn how to fight this boss.

Clock Room

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach the Clock Room.

Notes: It's one of the more accessible locations in Dead Cells and does not require you to possess any runes. By default, you can reach the Clock Room from the Clock Tower. There's a second main boss of the game waiting for the player in the Clock Room - The Time Keeper.

As an alternative way to the Clock Room, you can also reach it from the Forgotten Sepulcher. You have to rely on this option if you've used the key to open the door in the basement (instead of those next to the elevator at the end of the map) in Stilt Village.

Deft Extraction

Trophy type: brown

How to unlock: You have to acquire the fourth Boss Stem Cell.

Komentarz: In order to unlock this trophy you have to complete the game with the third Boss Stem Cell active - i.e. on a higher difficulty level. The fourth Boss Stem Cell appears together with a loot after you defeat the Hand of the King, the final boss.

Do You Need... A Hand?? Bahaha!

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: You have to defeat the Hand of the King without receiving any damage.

Note: This is one of the most difficult achievements in the game. In order to unlock it, you have to learn all boss' attacks by heart and dodge each of them successfully. This trophy is one of the last you will unlock and you will have to defeat the boss at least several dozen times before you familiarize with his attacks.

Additional note: If you want to make it easier, copy your save files before fighting the boss. Should you make a mistake, turn the game off and use you copied save files. This way, you do not have to complete the long journey to get to the boss' lair.

Even the Rats Avoid the Place...

Trophy tye: brown - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy tye: brown

How to unlock: Reach the Insufferable Crypt for the first time.

Note: Initially you cannot access this location. The main protagonist first has to come into possession of the Ram Rune (see the description of La Brute achievement)

After you acquire this rune, first you have to reach the Toxic Sewers and get to Ancient Sewers. Explore the latter location thoroughly in order to find the elevator to Insufferable Crypt. Inside the crypt, your hero has to face the Conjunctivius boss.

Note: The detailed description on how to unlock this trophy can be found in the next sections of this walkthrough.

Finally, A Moment to Rest...

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach the Black Bridge.

Notes: It's one of the more accessible locations in Dead Cells and does not require you to possess any runes. The Black Bridge (where you'll duel the first main boss - The Concierge) is accessible from the Ramparts.

Finished, Without Fear

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Finish the game with second Boss Stem Cell active.

Note: This is one of the more difficult trophies. Second Stem Cell can be acquired after defeating the final boss (The Hand of the King) with the first Stem Cell active. After starting a new game, activate the second cell (you can do this in the starting location) in order to increase the difficulty level.

The new difficulty level features stronger enemies. Moreover, you cannot renew your health vials as often as when playing with the first Stem Cell active.

Flawless Victory

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Defeat Conjunctivius without sustaining any damage.

Fortune and Glory, Kid. Fortune and Glory...

Trophy type: bronze - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach the Slumbering Sanctuary.

Notes: Access to this location is initially blocked - it's one of the better hidden locations in the game. The main character must first acquire the Ram Rune (see the description of the La Brute achievement).

After you have found the Ram Rune, wait for the game to start again, because you have to go through several locations (beginning with the starting location) in a strictly defined order. The order is as follows:

  1. Prisoners' Quarters - find the passage to Toxic Sewers (you'll need to have the Vine Rune)
  2. Toxic Sewers - find the passage to Ancient Sewers (you'll need to have the Ram Rune)
  3. Ancient Sewers - find the passage to Insufferable Crypt (you'll need to reach the elevator)
  4. Insufferable Crypt

Once in Insufferable Crypt, you'll need to defeat a boss - Conjunctivius. After that, leave the arena and look for a nearby passage to Slumbering Sanctuary.

Going Down!

Trophy type: brown

How to unlock: Kill an enemy with an elevator.

Note: The detailed description on how to unlock this trophy can be found in the next sections of this walkthrough.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Beat the game with the third Boss Stem Cell active.

Note: This is one of the most difficult trophies. Third Stem Cell can be acquired after defeating the final boss (The Hand of the King) with the second Stem Cell active. After starting a new game, activate the third cell (you can do this in the starting location) in order to increase the difficulty level.

The new difficulty level features stronger enemies. Moreover, you cannot renew your health vials as often as when playing with the second Stem Cell active

Here Comes a New Challenger!

Trophy type: bronze - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Acquire the Challenger's Rune.

Notes: It's a unique rune, as it doesn't make it easier to travel across the maps, but unlocks access to daily challenges, which allows you to acquire unique treasures. Fortunately, it is not difficult to obtain it. The only requirement to get the Challenger's Rune is to defeat the first "main" boss of the game - The Concierge. As a reminder, the monster can be found on the Black Bridge, which can be reached from either the Ramparts or the Ossuary.

Having defeated the boss (consult the Bosses section of our guide if necessary), find the Unknown Artifact on the bridge, which turns out to be exactly the Challenger's Rune you are looking for.

I Like to Live Dangerously...

Trophy type: silver - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Beat the game with the Cursed Sword in your inventory.

Note: This is one of the most difficult achievements in the game. By default, The Cursed Sword is unavailable. You have to acquire its blueprint (in our case it dropped from the defeated boss - Conjunctivius). Remember that the blueprints you find are random. After acquiring the blueprint you can unlock the weapon after spending an additional 50 cells.

The Cursed Sword works in the same way as curses - a single hit or falling into an environmental trap ends the game immediately. Try to acquire this sword (best to purchase it from a vendor) in the penultimate location - High Peak Castle or unlock it using cells upon getting to the last safe zone. With it, go to the Throne Room (the final location) and try defeating the final boss - The Hand of the King without sustaining any damage.

Additional note - If you want to make it easier, copy your save files before fighting the boss. Should you make a mistake, turn the game off, use you copied save files and try again. Creating a copy of the save files is possible only on PC (by copying save files into another folder) and PS4 (by copying save files onto a USB drive).

It Rubs the Lotion on Its Skin

Trophy type: bronze - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach Prison Depths.

Notes: Access to this location is initially blocked. The main character must first acquire the Spider Rune (see the description of the Incy Wincy... achievement).

Once you've acquired the spider rune, head to the Promenade of the Condemned. Once there. look for a section with a vertical wall, on which you can run up (an example of such a spot is shown on the picture - the appearance of the vertical shaft is always random). The new corridor will take you to the Prison Depths.

La Brute

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Acquire the Ram Rune.

Notes: A detailed description of how to unlock this trophy can be found on a dedicated page of our guide.

Let's Get Down to the Nitty Gritty...

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Beat the game with the fourth Boss Stem Cell active.

Note: This is one of the most difficult trophies. The fourth Stem Cell can be acquired after defeating the final boss (The Hand of the King) with the third Stem Cell active. After starting a new game, activate the fourth cell (you can do this in the starting location) in order to increase the difficulty level.

The new difficulty level features stronger enemies. Moreover, you cannot renew your health vials as often as when playing with the third Stem Cell active. Moreover, your character gets infected every time he receives damage.

Love the Serenity

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach the Promenade of the Condemned.

Notes: This is one of the simplest achievements in Dead Cells. The Promenade of the Condemned can be easily visited just a few minutes after starting the game for the first time. You arrive there when exiting the starting area - Prisoners' Quarters.

Masterful Extraction

Trophy type: brown

How to unlock: Acquire the second Boss Stem Cell.

Note: In order to unlock this achievement you have to beat the game with the first Boss Stem Cell active (i.e. on a higher difficulty level). The second Stem Cell drops with remaining loot after you defeat yet again the final boss - the Hand of the King.

My Only Wish, To Catch a Fish...

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach Stilt Village.

Never Fallen

Trophy type: silver - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Beat the game without using the Ygdar Orus Li Ox mutation.

Note: the Ygdar Orus Li Ox mutation can be selected from a list while being at a safe zone. It has to be the first unlocked mutation, as during the later stages of the game you will be unable to add it. This mutation can save your character from dying once per one playthrough. After the main protagonist loses all health points, the mutation is activated and your hero gets another chance. In order to unlock this achievement, you can never lose all health points, so that the mutation does not activate and does not disappear from the list of selected mutations. The first difficulty of this achievement is the fact that the Ygdar Orus Li Ox mutation "occupies a slot" in your inventory and you will be able to use only two other mutations throughout the game. Attempt to unlock this trophy after you come up with a solid character build that will increase your chances of beating the game without the risk of your hero's death.

Not So Tough

Trophy type: brown - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: brown

How to unlock: Defeat a total of 100 elite enemies.

Note: This is a time consuming yet not very challenging achievement. Elite monsters and their lairs can be encountered throughout the game - an exemplary lair can be seen in the screenshot above. If your hero is not weakened, engage combat with an elite opponent. It is worth adding that elite monsters often have an entourage. Moreover, they can teleport after their health bar drops below 50%. Prepare for sudden melee fights. You have to kill a total of any 100 elite opponents.

Ohhhhhh! That Hurt!

Trophy type: brown - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: brown

How to unlock: Die with at least 10 cells in your inventory.

Note: Current amount of carried cells is displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen, next to the minimap and the information on available golden (screenshot above). In order to unlock this trophy, first, you have to accumulate at least 100 cells and then die on purpose (or unintentionally). Below you can find the most important pieces of information on this trophy:

  1. You will never collect 100 cells in a single location. You have to collect cells from 2-3 neighboring locations. Try to explore each location at 100% to get as many cells as possible.
  2. After you return to a safe zone, you cannot spend accumulated cells at the Collector. Instead, destroy golden doors to leave the location. Collected cells will remain in your inventory and will not be spent on any upgrades.

Collect at least 100 cells this way and allow any enemy to kill your character.

Notes: Secret zones can be found in most of the locations you explore throughout the game. When you start exploring, climb up the roof and make a double leap to the left to find yourself right above the starting point. Approach the wall on the left and jump up the subsequent small ledges. Go to the very end and you should find a small location with a closed door and two sarcophaguses (see the picture above). Interacting with the first sarcophagus teleports you to the second one, which enables you to get through the door. The passage to Ossuary will be located nearby.

Once the boss has been dealt with, examine the area just outside of the arena and you'll locate a vertical shaft (an example can be seen on the picture, its shape may vary in your gameplay). After finding an elevator take it to go down. Again, set it in motion, BUT jump out of it immediately. After the elevator reaches the top, use the pressure plate on the floor to summon it and stand in the elevator shaft (screenshot above). The elevator will hit the main character and take some of his life points. You have to repeat this action until one of the elevator's hits causes the death of your hero.

What? There's Nothing Wrong With These...

Trophy type: silver - Trophy list in Dead Cells - Trophy Guide - Dead Cells Game Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Beat the game with a starting sword, bow or shield.

Note: in order to unlock this achievement you need to beat the entire game (ending with defeating the final boss) on very unusual terms. In one of the two main (top) inventory slots, there has to be one of the starting pieces of equipment - a sword, a shield or a bow. Below are mentioned additional tips for unlocking this trophy:

  1. Having a bow or a shield in one of the inventory slots does not render these items useless, however, they will prove useful mostly in the initial locations occupied by less challenging opponents.
  2. It is a good idea to purchase permanent upgrades shown in the screenshot above - Random Starter Bow / Shield / Melee Weapon. They allow you to get a bit better starting items at random.
  3. When completing the game, you have to find a more generic weapon with useful modifiers (e.g. a sword that can burn the enemies). Moreover, you have to rely more on the skills from bottom inventory slots (traps, grenades, powers). Fortunately, they can be upgraded and selected with no limitations.
