Dead Space Remake encourages you to play through the story again with presence of the New Game Plus mode. On this page, we explain how to unlock NG+, whether you can transfer your progress to New Game Plus, and what are the most important novelties of the New Game Plus mode.
- Rewards for completing the game and unlocking the New Game Plus
- Transferring progress to New Game Plus
- New features in NG+
Rewards for completing the game and unlocking the New Game Plus
You get rewards completing the campaign for the first time. You will receive information about the unlocked rewards after completing chapter 12 and watching the main ending.
- 50,000 credits
- 10 nodes
- new text logs - you can check them in the Database;
- level 6 RIG suit - you have to buy it in the shop and we've described it in more detail down the page.
In addition, if you played on the Impossible difficulty level, you will receive the Hand Cannon weapon and the Burnished Suit.
New Game Plus will appear in the main menu. After selecting it, you need to choose the auto save that was created when you finished the campaign.
In NG+ mode, you can choose the same or a different difficulty level (including lower). Starting a New Game Plus will not delete your old manual saves. They will still be available. You can create new manual saves for NG on new slots.
Transferring progress to New Game Plus
The following things are transferred to the New Game Plus mode:
- Weapons - At the beginning of the game you have to take the Plasma Cutter, but other weapons that you have obtained earlier do not need to be found again.
- Inventory and storage Items - Items that had in your inventory when you finished the game for the first time will be automatically moved to the storage.
- Nodes - In NG+, you can find new nodes in the same locations where they were before.
You can recover all equipment by visiting the shop in NG+ for the first time. Go to the clipboard tab (Storage).
Development trees are kept in New Game Plus - for the suit and all weapons.
You can spend newly found or purchased nodes (for 10,000 credits) on further upgrades. This is the only way to buy them all, because it is not possible to unlock 100% of the upgrades in a single playthrough.
Secrets and collectibles are kept in New Game Plus - you can find, e.g. the same logs, but this will have no effect. Discovered collectibles are available in the Database from the very beginning of the NG+ campaign.
In New Game Plus, you need to re-obtain security clearances 1-3 - you get them automatically by progressing in the story.
If you've obtained the Master Override before, it will be available in NG+ from the start. You don't need to do the You Are Not Authorized side mission - you can open all containers and doors that require the Main Override (star icon) right from the start.
New features in NG+
The most important novelty is the option of unlocking the game's alternate ending. To do this, you need to find Marker Fragments when replaying the campaign - there are 12 of them in total. The full requirements for the secret ending are described on a separate page of the Endings section of our guide.
In the shop, you can purchase a Suit Level 6 for 99,000 credits. It has a radically different appearance and increases armor durability by up to 30%. Unfortunately, the inventory will not be increased.
In NG+ mode, you can also expect a different placement of enemies - you can encounter different monsters, or some safe locations can now be overrun by Necromorphs.
