Isaac removing his helmet
In Dead Space Remake, Isaac spends the vast majority of his time traveling around the ship in a full suit, which also includes a helmet to protect him from, e.g. suddenly entering into a void.
Isaac removes his helmet at select locations where other characters are. This happens for the first time in the prologue, i.e. on board the USG Kellion flying towards Ishimura. You can also encounter other crew members at selected moments later in the game. The protagonist can then remove his headgear during the conversation.
Isaac's appearance in the remake
Isaac looks a bit different in the remake - see the picture above. You have free camera control in these sequences so you can see the character's face from different angles. The protagonist never takes off his RIG - you can only change or upgrade it in shops.
