Days Gone has an open world but its plot is linear. The hero is able to make numerous minor decisions but the order of the missions is always the same - however, you have a bit of freedom in side missions (both in their order and ways of completing them).

Every mission reward you with experience points; the majority of them will also reward you with credits and Trust points in a given encampment.

The missions in this guide were marked according to the in-game Journal. If you want to get information about a specific mission, you will find it in the chapter dedicated to it. Note: some missions can be marked in a few different chapters - this means that this mission affects their progress.

Basic information about the missions in Days Gone:

1. Every story mission reward you with Trust points and credits (only for a given encampment!), and XP.
2. Plotlines intertwine - completing one mission can unlock new plotlines with unrelated missions.
3. Sometimes, your journal can be empty - wait for someone to call you over the radio (this happens outside encampments).
4. If you are planning to do side quests, do them before the main missions - some main missions can block and prevent you from completing certain side quests (they will disappear from the journal; for example, during a trip to Lost Lake).
