Days Gone: Crafting plans - list Days Gone guide, walkthrough

Last update: 02 April 2021

On this page of our guide to Days Gone we provide a list of plans, through which Deacon can create new items with the use of crafting. This may be, for example, new varieties of blades & melee weapons, medications or traps. We explain how the 'recipe' can be obtained and what components for crafting are necessary for the production of the desired item. In addition to this, we explain what application the crafted item has and how it can be used.

Bandage Dress

Availability: Automatically unlocked. You get it when you play the prologue.

Required materials: Cloth x1, Sterilizer - 1x.

Commentary: These are by far the most important crafting plans in the game. Bandages are the best way to treat Deacon, as the ingredients needed to produce them are found on almost every visited zone in the game.

Stamina Cocktail

Availability: You must attack and clear the Horse Creek Ambush Camp. You'll find the plans in the bunker under the camp.

Required materials: Cloth x1, Berry x1, Sterilizer - 1x.

Commentary: Stamina Cocktail is related with the stamina bar not the health bar of your hero. It's a good idea to use it when your stamina drops to zero. You will immediately restore your stamina at some part, and in addition, subsequent points of stamina will (slowly) recover over time.

Focus Cocktail

Availability: You have to attack and clear the Belknap Caves Ambush Camp. You'll find the plans in the bunker under the camp.

Required materials: Cloth 1x, Mushroom x1, Sterilizer 1x.

Commentary: This Cocktail helps to restore and regenerate the Focus points. After using it Deacon immediately recovers only a small amount of Focus points. The remaining points will regen more slowly over time.

Molotov

Availability: Automatically unlocked. This happens while passing through the tunnel accompanied by Boozer in the prologue of the campaign.

Required materials: Beer Bottle x1, Rag x1, Kerosene x1

Commentary: This is a very useful recipe. Molotov cocktails are one of the most commonly used disposable items in the game. You can rely on them in the first place, destroying the Freakers' nests, although they will also come in handy for setting fire to enemies (preferably when you lure a large group to some place).

Smoke bomb

Availability: You have to attack and clear the Bear Creek Hot Springs Ambush Camp - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Availability: You have to attack and clear the Bear Creek Hot Springs Ambush Camp. You'll find the plans in the bunker under the camp.

Required materials: Can 1x, Rag x1, Gun Powder x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Smoke bomb is useful in situations where you are fighting live opponents. The appearance of thick smoke can make it difficult for enemies to attack the hero, and this is especially useful for protecting yourself from snipers.

Proximity Bomb

Availability: You have to attack and clear the Berley Lake Ambush Camp. You'll find the plans in the bunker under the camp.

Required materials: Can x1, Spark Igniter x1, Gun Powder x1, Box of Nails x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Proximity Bomb is one of the available types of traps. Since this item requires a fairly large amount of craft materials (including a rare spark igniters), it is recommended to use it to surprise large groups of Freakers or to weaken the hordes.

Spiked Stool Leg

Availability: You must start the mission No Starving Patriots. You will find the plan in the bunker under the robbers' camp.

Required materials: Stool Leg x1, Box of Nails x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Stool Leg can be found during the journey through the game world. Thanks to the installation of nails, it can cause more damage.

Stool Leg Axe

Availability: You need to complete the No Starting Patriots mission. You can find the crafting recipes in the bunker beneath the Marauders Camp.

Required materials: Stool Leg x1, Sawblade x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Stool Leg can be found during the journey through the game world. Attaching the saw blades to it greatly increases the damage rate.

Spiked Fence Post

Availability: You must start the mission No Starving Patriots. You will find the plan in the bunker under the robbers ' camp.

Required materials: Fence Post x1, Box of Nails x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: You can find the fence post when you travel around the game world. By installing nails on it you may increase the damage of this crated weapon.

Fence Post Axe

Availability: You need to complete the No Starting Patriots mission. You can find the crafting recipe in the bunker beneath the Marauders Camp.

Required materials: Fence Post x1, Sawblade x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: You can find the fence post when you travel around the game world. Attaching the saw blades to it greatly increases the damage done.

Spiked 2x4

Availability: You need to complete the No Starting Patriots mission. You can find the crafting recipe in the bunker beneath the Marauders Camp.

Required materials: 2x4 x1, Box of Nails x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: 2x4 can be found during your journey through the game world - usually it lies freely on the trunk of pick-ups. Thanks to the installation of nails, it can cause more damage.

2x4 Axe

Required materials: 2x4 x1, Sawblade x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: 2x4 can be found during your journey through the game world - usually it lies freely on the trunk of pick-ups. Attaching the saw blades to it greatly increases the damage rate.

Availability: You must attack and clear the Black Crater Ambush Camp. You'll find the plans in the bunker under the camp.

Required materials: Wood Baseball Bat x1, Small Pipe) x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Baseball Bat can be found somewhere in the game world. Using the pipe allows you to strengthen this melee weapon.

Crossbow Bolt

Availability: Automatically unlocked - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Availability: Automatically unlocked. This happens immediately after retrieving the crossbow from the weapon locker in the Hideout on the top of the O'Leary mountain. Deacon and Boozer get to camp on the hill after completing the game's prologue.

Required materials: Cedar Sapling x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Cedar Sapling can be found in all regions of the world map. Look at the little trees that look like the one in the picture. You can additionally acquire the hawkeyed skill, thanks to which trees (and other plants) will be highlighted on the mini-map. You should always have a full stock of crossbow bolts, because Deacon can use them very quickly.

Residue Bolt

Availability: The plans are obtained automatically - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Availability: The plans are obtained automatically. This takes place directly after completing the mission They're Not Sleeping, i.e., one in which soldiers and NERO scientists appear for the first time.

Required materials: Cedar Sapling x1, Nest Residue x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Nest Residue can be obtained by returning to the places where it was recently possible to set fire to the nests (as shown in the picture). Crossbow bolts with residue are an interesting variety of bullets. The defeated enemy will become enraged and attack his allies. It is necessary to rely on these while securing areas with a large number of enemies. Hit one of them and let him "help" Deacon to clean up the area.

Incendiary Bolt

Availability: You have to attack and clear the Deerborn Ambush Camp - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Availability: You have to attack and clear the Deerborn Ambush Camp. You'll find the plans in the bunker under the camp.

Required materials: Cedar Seedling x1, Rag x1, Kerosene x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: This bolts can be used as an alternative to Molotov cocktails. Their advantage is that in addition to the standard damage they can set the attacked enemy on fire. The downside is in turn that unlike cocktails, you can't set fire to groups of opponents, so it lacks the area of effect.

Attractor

1 - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide
Availability: These plans are unlocked automatically - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Availability: These plans are unlocked automatically. This happens after completing the story mission Do You Have My Back? , in which you explore the courthouse being accompanied by Iron Mike.

Required materials: Can x1, Alarm Clock or Car Alarm x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Finding some ingredients required to craft attractor can be problematic. Alarm clocks can be found by examining the interiors of buildings (see picture 1). Car alarms can be obtained by detecting and disarming a car with a built-in alarm (for example, a pulsing red light in the image 2).

The attractor is a very useful gadget - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

The attractor is a very useful gadget. You can throw it between Freakers, wait for the monsters to gather around it and then throw some bomb or Molotov cocktail at the same place. This will allow you to kill or seriously injure a large group of monsters in a single action.

Explosive Bolt

Availability: You must attack and clear out the Aspen Butte Ambush Camp (this is one of the final regions of the world map - Highway 97). You'll find the plans in the bunker under the camp.

Required materials: Cedar Sapling x1, Gunpowder x1, Spark Igniter x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: It's a useful type of bolts, because they may attack groups of Freakers or any other types of enemies. Each bolt, at the moment of impact, can cause damage to all enemies who are near the place of explosion.

Remote Bomb

Availability: These plans are unlocked automatically - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Availability: These plans are unlocked automatically. This takes place after completing We Couldn't Take the Risk story mission. This is the last task from the storyline related with a journey to the Cloverdale Facility in the Iron Butte region.

Required crafting materials: Airbag x1, Spark Igniter x1, Box of Nails x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: The airbag is a new type of crafting component that couldn't be found until the remote bomb plan was unlocked. Airbags can be obtained in fairly obvious cases - at the wreckages of cars some additional interactive markers may appear. Deacon must approach the car from the driver's side door, and push through the scattered glass to take the airbag out of the cab. In addition, airbags can be found in random locations along with other loot.

Remote bombs can be placed on the ground in the same way as other traps, but they require manual detonation, holding the right direction button on the pads cross - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Remote bombs can be placed on the ground in the same way as other traps, but they require manual detonation, holding the right direction button on the pad's cross. Detonating remote bombs can be difficult if you're running from a Horde of Freakers. On the other hand, it can be useful if you're using attractor or another method to "direct" enemies to the location where the bomb is placed.

Napalm Molotov

Availability: These plans are unlocked automatically - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Availability: These plans are unlocked automatically. This takes place during the main mission called You Alone I Have Seen - the one, where you have to deal with the Chemult Horde

Required materials: Growler x1, Kerosene x1, Rag x1, Polystyrene x1.

Commentary: Polystyrene is probably already well known to you, as in one of the previous missions, Deacon went in search of this component for Weaver. From the moment you unlock the plans, you will simply find it in the surroundings along with another loot. The same applies to growler.

Molotov Napalm is the perfect item to significantly weaken Hordes of Freakers - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Molotov Napalm is the perfect item to significantly weaken Hordes of Freakers. At the time of breaking the growler, the flame will spread over a larger area than in the case of Molotov cocktails. You can burn many more monsters. Always aim in large groups of Freakers, so as not to lose the precious with Napalm Molotov's.

Poison Bolt

Availability: These plans are unlocked automatically - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Availability: These plans are unlocked automatically. It will happen when you start the I've Got a Plan mission.

Required materials: Cedar Sapling x1, Poison x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Poison can be found on a regular basis in the game world along with "normal" loot. Poisoned belt will useful, in particular, to attack more powerful monsters, which (after successful hit) can gradually loose health points. For ordinary Freakers and living opponents it is best to just aim at the head, so that even the usual bolt will lead to murder.

Ripper Axe

Availability: This crafting recipe is unlocked automatically after completing the They Will Never Stop mission - after raiding the Rippers' camp.

Required items: 2x4 x1, Box of Nails x1, Scrap x5.

Commentary: You can find the 2x4 when exploring the in-game world - it usually can be found on the pick-up trucks you pass. This is one of the melee weapons used by the Rippers. Instead of crafting it, you can alternatively find it by the encountered corpse.

Ripper Club

Availability: This crafting recipe is unlocked automatically after completing the They Will Never Stop mission - after raiding the Rippers' camp.

Required items: Wood Baseball Bat x1, Small Pipe x1, Scrap x5.

Commentary: You can find the baseball bat when exploring the in-game world. This is one of the melee weapons used by the Rippers. Instead of crafting it, you can alternatively find it by the encountered corpse.

Ripper Blade

Availability: This crafting recipe is unlocked automatically after completing the They Will Never Stop mission - after raiding the Rippers' camp.

Required items: Stool Leg x1, Sawblade x1, Scrap x5

Commentary: You can find the stool leg when exploring the in-game world - e.g. inside residential buildings. This is one of the melee weapons used by the Rippers. Instead of crafting it, you can alternatively find it by the encountered corpse.

Pipebomb

Availability: This crafting recipe is unlocked automatically after completing the They Will Never Stop mission - after raiding the Rippers' camp.

Required items: Small Pipe x1, Box of Nails x1, Gunpowder x1, Scrap x1.

Commentary: Pipebomb is the most useful item in the game. It is best used to eliminate enemies not aware of Deacon's presence or the ones gathered around a bait - unlike the proximity bomb, the charge in Pipebomb explodes with slight time delay.

Attractor Bomb

Availability: You need to attack and clear the Wagon Road Ambush Camp (The Iron Butte region) - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Availability: You need to attack and clear the Wagon Road Ambush Camp (The Iron Butte region). You will find the crafting recipe in the bunker beneath the camp.

Required items: Can x1, Gunpowder x1, Spark Igniter x1, Alarm Clock or Car Alarm x1, Scrap x1

Commentary: This is a better version of the bait, as apart from distracting the enemies it also carries an explosive charge. This makes things much easier, as you do not have to throw any pipebombs or molotovs at freakers who ran towards the bait.

Health Cocktail

Availability: This crafting recipe is unlocked automatically after you complete A War We Can Win mission, during which Deacon visits the Wizard Island at Crater Lake for the first time.

Required items: Rag x1, Mayweed x1, Steriliser x1

Commentary: The Health Cocktail affects the protagonist's health bar and is an alternative to using bandages and first aid kits. Upon drinking such cocktail you regain a portion of health, while remaining health points will regenerate over time (at a slower rate). Mayweed can be found when exploring the in-game world. Remember not to sell them to cooks at camps. Otherwise, you will be able to craft the cocktail only after you pick up some more mayweed.

IPCA Stun Gun

Availability: Unlock the secret ending - meet with OBrian after completing the main storyline - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Required materials: IPCA Tech x18 - Days Gone: Crafting plans - list - Game basics - Days Gone Guide

Required materials: IPCA Tech x18

Commentary: IPCA Tech is a unique crafting material. These items are found in locations belonging to NERO. Your best chance to get them is to loot NERO scientists in Research Sites.

You need 18 units of IPCA Tech to craft IPCA Stun Gun. If you are still missing some of the components, revisit Research Sites. Once you get 18 units, open the crafting wheel, go to Sidearms tab and craft the Stun Gun. This weapon stuns enemies and sets them on fire.
