Thanks to heroes, you can travel the world of Darkest Dungeon 2 and participate in missions. On this page of the guide you will find a list of all classes along with stats and class skills.
At the beginning of each mission, you choose four heroes to create your party. Each hero is assigned to a class on which their skills and stats depend.

Hero stats
Each hero has stats based on their class, gear, habits, disease, and temporary status effects. The list below represents each character's base stats:
- Max HP,
- Speed,
- Bleed resistance,
- Blight resistance,
- Burn resistance,
- Stun resistance,
- Move resistance,
- Debuff resistance,
- Death resistance,
- Disease resistance.
Highwayman
The Highwayman's job is to deal as much damage as possible to enemies and inflict negative status effects on them. Fine control of the battlefield allows him to fight effectively in close encounters and from a distance, thanks to which he will fit almost every team.

Man-at-Arms
Man-at-Arms is a defensive character, ideally fulfilling the role of a tank. A large number of health points and defensive skills allow him to take massive damage, thus protecting his team from being wiped out.

Grave Robber
The Grave Robber is a mobile class capable of fighting both at the front and rear of positions. His skill set is similar to those of Highwaymen. Hand-to-hand combat and long-range poison will let her take place in any position.

Plague Doctor
Plague Doctor is a class that relies on status effect attacks. Her skill set allows for Bleed or Poison attacks, allowing Plague Doctor effortlessly eradicate an enemy with thick armor. Works best in 3/4 position in a formation.

Hellion
The Hellion is the typical equivalent of the Barbarian. Her fighting style is based on aggressive and powerful attacks at the cost of her defense. She works perfectly in the second position in the formation.

Runaway
The Runaway is a support character that fights in the front line. This character's skill set allows you to deal damage, burn and hide from the enemy at the same time.

Jester
The Jester is a class that works best as a support for your team. His abilities allow him to relieve stress, apply Combo, and deal damage with a Bleed effect.

Leper
The perfect character to attract any attacks. The Leper's task is to fight in the frontline as a tank and focus on dealing damage to enemies. Simple and effective.

Occultist
Equivalent to the mage, the Occultist focuses on healing the team, removing status effects, or dealing damage, depending on the task and his position in the formation assigned to him.

Bounty Hunter
The Bounty Hunter is different from other heroes in Darkest Dungeon 2. After unlocking this hero in The Altar of Hope, the Bounty Hunter can only be recruited in the Tavern when a poster of his likeness is hanging there.

Vestal
A support class that deals with removing the negative statuses and the healing of the y team. He fits the most in the rear positions in battle formation.

Hero: Flagellant
The Flagellant is a support class that occupies a front position in the formation. This class's skill set allows her to heal teammates, deal damage and inflict status effects, and remove corpses from the battlefield. High Health is counterbalanced by self-damage when using a skill.
