The authors of Cyberpunk 2077 have prepared a rarely-encountered option. While creating your hero, you need to choose his/her origin. Think about it, as it will affect the beginning of the game, as well as further fate of your hero.
- What are the available origin options?
- How do the initial stages of the game differ?
- Do the origin of the hero influences the encountered missions?
- Will the hero be differently received by other characters?
- Can the choice of origin block you from accessing the content?
What are the available origin options?
You can choose from three origin options - Nomad, Street Kid and Corporate. If you choose the Nomad origin, you won't start in Night City. Instead, you will start the game in the Badlands. It is worth noting that the wastelands are also available for characters with other origins. The game doesn't block access to them.
How do the initial stages of the game differ?
Depending on the origin of the hero, you start the game in a different location. Thanks to that, you first visit different areas and different people. Your initial missions will also vary greatly depending on the hero's origin.
Do the origin of the hero influences the encountered missions?
Yes. The developers have confirmed that depending on the origin of the hero, we will see another prologue. Changes in the later parts of the game will probably be related to the presence of unique dialogue options / behaviors that can have an impact on the course of the quests or relationships with particular NPCs.
Will the hero be differently received by other characters?
As far as we know, the origin of our hero can affect dialogues with other characters. This should not, however, spoil any relationship or the availability of the mission.
Can the choice of origin block you from accessing the content?
Truth be said, rather not. What we face in the world of the game will depend on our decisions and actions, but should not be affected by the origin of our character.
