Walkthrough:

In this stage, Crash has to escape before a large rolling boulder. The escape scenes are entwined with short exploration sequences - use them to find the bonus section and to destroy additional crates to receive the Clear Gem.

The escape sequence begins shortly after emerging from the portal. The path leads through small chasms that have to be scaled, as well as other dangers including mines similar to the one shown on the screenshot above. Touching the mine won't kill the hero instantly, but will cause a short stun which increases the probability of being hit by the boulder. Aside from the above, you'll encounter electrical fences and green nitroglycerin crates that appear in the further part of the level (these will be destroyed by the boulder).

Fortunately, each checkpoint area will stop the boulder until you're ready to start again. Use such opportunities to find and destroy additional crates.

One of the checkpoints contain the violet gem (the item will appear on the left side - see the screenshot above) and the entrance to the bonus area. The area contains 17 crates, most of them easily accessible. Focus on avoiding TNT blasts (destroy the crate in the middle then move away from the stack until it blows up) and watch out for the chasm at the end of the section (you'll need to scale the chasm by utilizing apple crates which can survive up to 5 jumps)

The final section of the escape introduces acceleration plates with green arrows which offer a temporary boost to your speed. You can use the advantage to reach additional crates which are otherwise hard to get (the leftover ones are destroyed by the boulder, but these won't be added to your score).
