Hit The Road is the fifth level available in Crash Bandicoot 4. On this page, you will find information about all gems, chests, secret levels. It also contains a detailed walkthrough.
Secret tape
The adventure on this map must begin with an important information. Here you will find a secret tape that will unlock access to a retro level.
Remember, the only way to get the tape is if you haven't died even once. Additionally, you have to complete the map in order for the tape to be added to your inventory.
You'll find a tape behind the second checkpoint when you pass the metal balls. It's always visible, but you can only get it if you haven't died once.
Gems
You can get 6 gems on the Hit The Road map. They'll help you unlock a skin.
You can get gems for:
- Getting 40% of all Wumpa fruits available on the map;
- Getting 60% of all Wumpa fruits available on the map;
- Getting 80% of all Wumpa fruits available on the map;
- Getting all 168 chests;
- Completing the entire map while dying less than 3 times;
- Finding the hidden gem.
Number of boxes
You can get 168 crates on the Hit The Road map.
Level description
It's time for some electricity. You can't touch any electric elements, or you'll lose your life immediately. Try to jump over the current or slip under it.
Going forward, you'll encounter flame cannons and metal balls. If you touch them, you'll drop out the map right away.
There are tape and an entrance to the hidden level right after the platforms. It's easy to spot them, even though there are a few boxes in front of them.
Next, you'll find a new type of boxes. Sometimes flames come out of them, which can take your life. Wait for the moment and hit them when they're put out. That's the only way to get rid of them.
The next stage requires great precision. Moving platforms, flames, opponents, and metal balls will be in your way. Take every step carefully to move on safely.
Jump on the rope and then platforms to get to the checkpoint. There you have to repeat the whole process - the rope, the platforms, all the way up to the stable ground.
Watch out for the flames while riding the rope. Remember, you can move up and down to avoid obstacles.
You'll get a mask that will let you modify your surroundings. I'll help you move forward. There will be many platforms and other dangerous obstacles in your way. Don't worry. With the mask, you can disable some burners and destroy obstacles.
There will be a dangerous stage ahead of you. You have to avoid current and flames, and also the platform that pulls you down. Be careful not to lose your life.
It's time for the second part of the stage - the escape. You have to run forward and avoid obstacles. If you touch the wires, the character will slow down, and your opponent will be able to catch you.
Hidden gem
The hidden gem can be found on the left, near the disappearing platforms. All you have to do is climb out and use a slide to get to that part of the map.
Then slip under the Nitro box, jump up and run for the gem.
Secret level
The entrance to the secret level can be found just after the metal balls. All you have to do is destroy the crates, and you'll get to the entrance.
On this bonus level you can get 19 boxes. To get part of them, you have to use the box with an exclamation point first.
Remember, you don't lose lives on bonus levels!
