Warzone: Course of the match Warzone guide, tips

Last update: 07 July 2021

Call of Duty Warzone takes players to a huge map called Verdansk, where you can participate in Battle Royale teams consisting of up to 3 people. You can connect to the game either as a solo player (you will be added to a team made up of random players) or join a team that was formed earlier. The match starts when 150 have been gathered which are divided into 50 3-member teams. After that, all players are transported to the map, where the struggle for survival will take place. In this section the player will learn how to play each stage of the CoD Warzone match.

How to play at the beginning of the match in Call of Duty Warzone?

The beginning of a match in Call of Duty Warzone always looks the same. The player registers for Battle Royale mode and waits in the lobby to get connected to the server. Then all players are transported to the training map and wait for the proper gameplay to start. Round one starts when you land on the map of Verdansk.

Landing

When you get over the Verdansk map, the countdown will start. After about 10 seconds, the first players will start jumping out of the plane. Try to choose the right place and mark it on the map so that all team members know which way they should go.

Depending on whether you want to get into the middle of the action right away or play through all phases of the game calmly and methodically, choose the right point to land. Remember, you play as a team and only by acting together you have the best chances of surviving.

Team leader

In Call of Duty Warzone one person on the team can be promoted to a leader and is marked with an orange star. If you want to, you can give up the title to someone else by using a specific button.

Appropriate landing place

Very importantly, the landing site must provide the team with the necessary items, in particular the weapons that will be needed for further exploration of the area. Armor and additional tactical equipment such as grenades or mines will also be useful. First, try to choose different landing locations to learn more about the map and know which direction is worth to go.

Round 1 in Call of Duty Warzone

Round one starts when you jump out of the plane and lasts for another 4 minutes. Most of the teams die during round 1. Sometimes only 66% of all teams or even 50% of all teams will manage to advance into the next round.

Focus on acquiring the necessary weapons, such as main and secondary weapons, ammunition, armor plates in order to replenish armor and cash. Your goal is to collect as much cash as possible in the shortest possible time so that you can buy the equipment loadout in the second round.

Collecting gear and finding equipment

Remember to inform your team members from the very beginning about available weapons, which you will not use. If you have full armor and a few spare armor plates in your inventory and one of the team members does not have additional protection - share your equipment with him.

The same rule applies to additional weapons, ammunition and other auxiliary equipment. It is very important to share information and acquired equipment from the very beginning, as this will increase your chances of winning.

First stage of tightening the circle

At the end of round 1 you will be informed that the gas circle (dangerous zone) is tightening. If you look at the map and notice that you are in danger (outside the white circle), you have just over 4 minutes to reach the safe zone.

If you fail to reach the safe zone in time, every second of your hero's time in the area will cost you some health. You can use a vehicle to quickly evacuate from the affected area.

How to play the middle part of the match in Call of Duty Warzone?

The middle stage of the match in Call of Duty Warzone starts around round 2. Only half of player teams have left on the map of Verdansk and the area of the battle is much smaller. At this stage of the duel the players are already well armed, so you have to reckon with the fact that it will not be easy to eliminate them.

Round 2 in CoD Warzone

Round 2 lasts 1:30 minutes and players fight against each other on a smaller area. At this stage of the game, the equipment is exchanged for a better one by the means of loadout drops. As a reminder, the equipment drop costs $8,500.

The weapons you get from the equipment drop should be sufficient until the end of the game. Alternatively, if the situation requires it, you may be tempted to make another drop in round 3 or even round 4 to replenish your ammo or to get the weapon assigned to another set.

Second stage of tightening the circle

At the end of round 2 you will be informed about the further tightening of the battle zone. If you look at the map and notice that you are in danger, you have about 2:30 minutes to reach a safe area.

At this stage, the gas ring is shrinking much faster, so players need to react faster if they don't want to be exposed to damage. Very importantly, the injuries received from staying in the affected area are also much higher this time. If necessary, use one of the vehicles to get to the safe zone faster.

How to play Call of Duty Warzone at the end of the match?

In Call of Duty Warzone there is no exact time which indicates when the last stage of the game commences. It can be assumed that it starts when about 1/3 of the teams remain in the battle zone and the tightening circle forces them to fight in a very limited area.

Round 3

Round 3 is sometimes very intense, so you need to prepare yourself for it - the equipment supply drop will be very important here. Round three lasts for 1:15 minutes and the battle takes place in a very limited space.

The remaining teams don't move out of hiding, but are waiting for the enemy to make a move and monitor the area with sniper rifles - often equipped with a thermal vision scope. As you move around the map, try to avoid open spaces and keep an eye on the roofs of buildings and wooded hills.

Third stage of tightening of the circle

At this stage, the circle closes really quickly and players have less and less space to move around freely. If you need to move quickly to a safe zone, look around to check if there is a vehicle nearby.

The third stage of zone narrowing lasts 2 minutes - Warzone: Course of the match - Basics - Warzone Guide

The third stage of zone 'narrowing' lasts 2 minutes. This will usually be enough time to move to a safe place. Before the end of the third round, try not to be at the furthest point as you may not be able to reach a safe spot.

Rounds 4-7 in Call of Duty Warzone

Rounds 4 to 7 are full of action, because there is a really small area of the map available to players. Sometimes it is a forested area, and sometimes it is the city center. Depending on the situation, always try to use the terrain to your advantage.

At this stage of the game there are usually about 20 - 25 teams left in the game - Warzone: Course of the match - Basics - Warzone Guide

At this stage of the game there are usually about 20 - 25 teams left in the game. Round 4 and 5 lasts a minute, round 6 is slightly shorter - just 45 seconds. Round 7 is only 30 seconds long. As for the circle tightening stages, they last 1:30 minutes for round 4, 1 minute for round 5, 0:45 seconds for round 6 and 0:30 seconds for round 7, respectively.

Take a good position

The best way to win a match in the final phase of Call of Duty Warzone is to take a good shooting position from which your team will have an eye on the whole area of the narrow battle zone. By using a weapon with a good zoom, you can efficiently monitor and check the area in search of a potential target.

Victory

The match in Call of Duty Warzone ends when only one team is left on the battlefield. Even if you managed to kill the last opponent in the dangerous gas zone and you're about to die, it won't matter.
