The Curse of the Pharaohs DLC introduces a new resource - Shards of the Stars. This material is necessary in upgrading your gear to the highest level.
Pharaohs Shadows
Pharaohs' Shadow are this DLC's version of Phylakes and they will appear from time to time. These enemies are weaker versions of the bosses that you can encounter during the main story line. Pharaohs' Shadows can disappear in a middle of a fight if they stop focusing on you. Each defeated enemy gives you 3 Shards of a Star. These fights are long and challenging which means that this way is the least profitable one.
Scorpions
The Afterlife features new enemies - Scorpions. Each one of them drops 2 Shards of a Star. This is a good way to farm this resource because a small area can feature multiple Scorpions. They also respawn pretty fast.
They are usually found in the Aaru. There aren't many of them in Aten and Duat.
Shard of a Star mines
Shard of a Star mines can be found in Heb Sed, in Orion's Crater. Stelae is next to it. This place isn't marked in any other way on the map. That location has a lot of enemies so kill them all before you start exploring it.
One run can give you about 50 pieces. The resource needs a lot of time to respawn.
