Horde Mode is a new mode available in Assassin's Creed Origins. You can unlock it by completing the new quest added in the newest patch. Below you can find our solution for the quest and the description of Horde Mode.
Here Comes A New Challenger
How to unlock: Patch with Horde Mode.
Suggested level: 36.
Rewards: 3000 XP, an exclusive shield.
Here Comes A New Challenger quest has been added to your journal. Complete it and get access to fights in Horde Mode.
Speak with the man in Balagrae. He asks you to find and save two gladiators. The first is in the enemy camp in Kelida Hideout. The gladiator lies tied up on a stone ledge. You have to kill the enemies and carry the man to the exit. Then, speak with him.
Another gladiator is near the lake. In order to reach him you have to speak with the girl who stands in vegetation. Kosey jumps out after a short conversation. He attacks you. This initiates a fight that will be interrupted by his wife. Speak with him and then go to Cyrene Arena and speak with Thanasis. He stands in front of the building.
After the conversation you have to enter the arena and start the Horde Mode. Win 5 rounds and unlock another part of the mission. You have to find and kill Thanis and his soldiers. They are near the lake, the one where you found Kosey. Kill them all and complete the mission.
Combat in Horde Mode
Horde Mode is a new side activity. In order to unlock it you have to complete Here Comes A New Challenger side quest.
During this mode you can fight on the arena. The fights can end only when you resign or die.
Difficulty level
According to the developers, this mode should be played when your character's level is, at least, 32. However, the suggested level for the quest that unlocks it is 36. You shouldn't go there if your level is lower than 35. Each new wave has enemies with a higher level. You will have to face warriors with levels higher than 40.
Weapon
You can't change your equipment during the fights. Equip your best weapon and strengthen your character by leveling up melee abilities. This mode is also great for testing new weapons. You don't know whether this sword is good or not? Kill a few waves with it. You will know how it works on different enemies. Maybe that weapon is great against regular bandits or it can hurt a few soldiers at the same time. Now, you can learn about that in no time. After that you can simply resign. Then, you can select a different weapon and enter the arena again.
Use opportunities
Animals appear during some of the waves. You aren't their only target. A lion can also attack your enemies. Don't kill the animals first, they can be very useful during the fights.
Traps
The developers added even more traps. You are surrounded by spikes. Watch out for them so you won't lose health. More waves mean more traps. You can use them by pushing enemies.
Rewards
Amount of XP and gold depends on how many waves you have completed. This mode has no additional rewards.
