ARK: Resource collecting creatures - most useful ARK Survival Evolved guide, tips

In this chapter you will find information about most useful dinosaurs used to collect resources, with a short description, information about their locations and tables representing the taming process.
Doedicurus
One of the most common creatures used to collect resources. Its tail can crush rocks, allowing it to, aside from collecting materials, destroy enemy fortifications. It (along with its rider) can turn into a ball. This is not an aggressive creature. It will attack when damaged by a player. As soon as its health drops significantly, it will turn into a ball to protect itself from further damage.
Characteristics:
- It's not an aggressive creature
- The best stone collector in the game
- You can mount and ride on top of it
- Herbivore
Killing it gives you:
- Keratin
- Hide
- Raw Meat

Taming Doedicurus
You need patience to tame Doedicurus. You must aim for its head and repeat the process until the creature shrinks into its ball form. If you're lucky enough you will stun the creature before it can protect itself. If you, however, didn't make it, wait for it to emerge - this will restore some of the creature's torpor, but the amount won't be enough to prevent you from finally stunning it.

To create one piece of kibble you will need: Dilo Egg, Citronal, Cooked Meat Jerky, x2 Majoberry, x3 Fiber and Water.
After taming the creature you will need the saddle that you can unlock once you reach level 30. To create a saddle you will need 200 Hide, 110 Fiber, 15 stone and 5 metal ingot
Doedicurus is a magnificent collector of resources such as: Stone, Obsidian, Thatch, Wood. You can collect those by mounting the creature and striking rocks with its tail. It can also collect metals but only from obsidian walls.
Triceratops
Triceratops is a very good creature to collect berries. It has a high carrying capacity, allowing it to transport resources. It's not an aggressive creature- it will defend itself only when provoked.
Characteristics:
- Not aggressive
- Moves slowly
- Herbivore
- You can breed eggs, provided that you have a couple
- It's a berry collector

Taming Triceratops
Triceratops is a slow-moving creature, allowing you to effectively hit him with a ranged weapon, move back and repeat the process. Another method is to block its charge on trees - what's left is to attack it until the creature is stunned.

To create one piece of kibble you will need: Carno Egg, Savoroot, Cooked Meat Jerky, 2 Majoberry, x3 Fiber and Water.
After taming the creature you will need the saddle, unlocked once you reach level 20. To create it you will need: 140 Hide, 80 Fiber and 25 Wood
Triceratops is a brilliant collector of all types of berries. It's also used to acquire resources such as: Thatch, Wood, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom.
Beelzebufo
Beelzebufo is a creature useful both in resource collecting, as well as when taming another creature. It can generate torpor thanks to its long tongue. Additionally, it excels at traveling - this is due to its long leaps which deal relatively low damage upon falling.
Characteristics:
- You can mount and travel on top of it
- Long leaps make travelling a lot easier
- A pacifistic creature - it will attack you only in self-defense
- Carnivorous
Killing it gives you:
- Hide
- Raw Meat

Taming Beelzebufo
Start off by shooting a number of Tranquillizer Arrows at the creature. Beelzebufo is not a very dangerous enemy. During the taming process you can use rocks and elevated ground - those will allow you to attack the creature from a safe distance.

To craft one piece of kibble you will need the following: Pulmonoscorpius Egg, Longrass, Prime Meat Jerky, x2 Majoberry, x3 Fiber and Water.
Beelzebufo is a very good crafting material collector - Cementing paste and Chitin.
Sabertooth
A very quick and aggressive creature, a danger for beginner players. The best way to deal with it is to go to the high ground where it won't be able to reach you. One of the fastest creatures moving in terrain and a very good resource collector.

Taming Sabertooth
When selecting a creature for and finally taming it you must make sure that the one you're interested in is alone - those creatures tend to walk in pairs or in groups. It's very fast - escaping from it is not an option. The best method is to attack it from afar while standing on an elevation.

To craft one piece of kibble you will need: Bronto Egg, Rockarrot, Cooked Meat Jerky, x2 Majoberry, x3 Fiber and Water.
After taming it you will need a saddle, unlocked once you reach level 45. To create the saddle you will need: 290 Hide, 155 Fiber, 20 metal ingot.
Sabertooth can collect items from killed creatures: Chitin, Keratin, Hide, Pelt, Leech Blood, Raw Prime Meat, Raw Meat, Oil, Silica Pearls. The creature will mainly collect Hide and Meat.
Castoroides
Castorides is the best creature when it comes to wood collecting. Those creatures are very friendly and will attack you only if you try to acquire resources from a dame they've built, or when you attack them directly.

- The best wood collector in the game
- You can mount it
Killing it gives you:
- Pelt
- Hide
- Raw Meat

Taming Castorides
Taming this creature is fairly simple and won't require a lot of time and effort from you. All you need to do is to constantly move back and try to stun it. Additionally, you can try to attack it from an elevated ground.

To craft one piece of kibble you will need: Gallimimus Egg, Savoroot, Cooked Meat Jerky, x2 Majoberry, x3 Fiber and Water.
After taming it you will need a saddle, unlocked once you reach level 55. To create a saddle you will need: 290 Hide, 200 Fiber, 100 metal ingot, 180 thatch, 140 cementing paste.
Castoroides is a create most useful when it comes to wood collecting. Aside from that it can acquire Thatch and Berries for you.
Ankylosaurus
The most useful dinosaur when it comes to collecting resources such as metal and flint. It has a lot of health points, it's a herbivore and has a carrying capacity that makes this creature an extremely good one for resource carrying.

- It has a high carrying capacity
- You can mount it
- A pair can breed an ankylo egg
Killing it gives you:

Taming
While taming an Anyklosaurus you must remember not to focus on its head - the creature receives the same amount of damage, regardless of the place you attack it. Stunning it in melee range is not the best option. The best tools for the job are Scorpion and / or Tranquillizer Arrows.

Ankylosaurus is a dinosaur that can collect a huge amount of resources. The most common ones that it collects are: Metal, Flint, Crystal. Additionally, it can collect the following ones: Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, Berries, Obsidian, Oil, Thatch, Stone and Wood.
