Javelin classes in Anthem - guide for beginners Anthem Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 22 February 2019

Anthem allows you to choose from four classes of javelins. Each of these can be used for learning, but some of them will make the whole process a bit smoother. In this section of the guide, we advise on which class of javelin to choose at the beginning of Anthem.

Weve prepared guide to all javelin classes in Anthem - Javelin classes in Anthem - guide for beginners - Javelin Classes - Anthem Guide

All javelin classes guide

We've prepared guide to all javelin classes in Anthem. Check our tips for:

Ranger

Storm

Interceptor

Colossus

The most obvious choice for the starting class is Ranger. The main advantage of this class is that you are forced to play two introductory missions to the campaign with it. This should allow you to get to know this class and the style of play it offers. Another advantage of this class is that it has quite a typical skill roster - you can use rocket launchers or grenades, among others. Assault rifle and other "classic" weapons are also quite reliable.

The second recommended class is Storm - Javelin classes in Anthem - guide for beginners - Javelin Classes - Anthem Guide

The second recommended class is Storm. Although it bears some resemblance to mages from regular RPGs, it's actually pretty easy to play with it. The Storm has some powerful offensive skills based on different kinds of elements. You can rely on them in the vast majority of battles, and even limit the use of traditional firearms if you get better at it. The Storm Class is also a great choice for learning how to combo attacks, i.e. how two different abilities are combined to deal more damage to enemies.

Additional notes

  1. New classes of javelins are unlocked at levels 2, 8, 16 and 26. Reaching level 8 shouldn't take long, so even if you don't like the first class you choose, you'll be able to switch to another class rather soon.
  2. Anthem also allows you to start the game again (this mechanic is described elsewhere in this guide). Consider using this option if you don't want to wait for changing the class until level 8.
  3. The Colossus class can be chosen if you're not particularly interested in flying, but rather prefer having a lot of firepower available.
  4. The Interceptor should be used only after getting the hand in flying in Anthem - this class is all about agility and speed of movement.

Detailed descriptions of all javelin classes can be found in the chapter titled Javelin classes in this guide.
