The Factory | Walkthrough Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Guide

The factory entrance.

Go straight ahead and open the secret door into the factory. Push the crate out of the way and head towards the factory entrance. There, you will receive a new journal entry (The Mandus Processing Company). Walk inside, climb down and go straight ahead. You will reach stairs up and down. If you are not interested in collectibles, climb down and squeeze under the bars.

You will walk into a room with furnaces. Only some of them are active. The ones that are not, require coal. There is some coal in some of them and you only have to close the furnace door [1] and press the button [2], like in the case of furnace 2 (in the screenshot, it has been shown right after being activated). The rest of them require fuel.

The panel that informs you which furnaces are working and which ones are not.

Enter the Piston Control Room. Inside, there are two panels providing information on which furnaces are working right now (green light) and which ones are not (red light). You have to pick up coal from the ground and throw it into the furnace (two lumps are enough), close the door and press the button (like in the case of furnace 2). If you have done everything right, the indicator light for that furnace will go green.

You will receive a journal update by this plaque.

In the room with furnace 6, Near the plaque with Danger... written on it, you will receive a new journal entry (Lily's Arms are Made of Steel, Lily's Arms are Silent). After you have activated all of the furnaces, you will receive another entry (Fire and Steel). You will not be bothered while activating them, so you can take your time.

After you have activated all of the furnaces, return to the control room. Make sure that all of the indicator lights are green. Move all three levers [1] to activate the device. Return to the room with furnaces 5 and 6.At the end of the room, there is a grate slightly up. Squeeze under it, climb down the stairs and walk under another grate.

The chute.

You have to reach the other end of the room where there is monster. The ways on the left and on the right will lead you to the coal chute. Jump into the chute and you will receive a new journal entry (The Descent Continues!).

the area exit.

Climb down and follow the coal trail. Climb up the stairs and approach a small cargo lift. Open it and crawl inside to enter another area.
