This page of the Amnesia Rebirth guide has a walkthrough for the chapter entitled The Dark World. You will find out, among others, how to go through the titular dark world, how to reach the last portal and how to complete the sequence in the apartment in Paris (mini-chapter Paris).

List of secrets

In The Dark World stage you can find 9 secrets:

1. The Dark World x7
2. Matchbooks x2

The locations where you can obtain collectibles have been included in the walkthrough below. You can also find other interactive items, but they don't necessarily have to be used.

Going through the alternative world

You are still in the caves. Follow the main path and ignore the portals as they lead to empty side areas. Take out the amulet once you reach the end of the main path. The heroine will be transferred to the dark world.

Follow the narrow linear path and reach the place where you have to squeeze through the rocks. After you have passed the descent, resume your march. Walk near the edge of the cliff and interact with the boulders (the first one is shown in the picture above) to push them into the abyss and unlock a passage further.

Stop at the place shown in the picture where you can see a large statue. On the ground, on the right, you will find the first collectible - The Dark World: Explorer's Note.

Keep going and then slide down. Ultimately, you have to reach the building shown in the picture. Inside, you will find several unique items:

1. The Dark World: Explorer's Note (it's a collectible with different content, despite the name identical to the previous one) - the secret is lying on the ground near the entrance
2. Matchbook - are to the right of the entrance
3. The Dark World: Explorer's Note - the secret is to the right of the entrance
4. The Dark World: Herbert's Final Note - the collectible is on the ground next to the corpse
5. The Dark World: Burned Map - the secret is by the extinguished fire on the left side
6. Laudanum - this medicine is lying next to the fire (you can add it to your inventory)

Exit the building and go slightly left. You can help yourself with the amulet whose arrow points in the direction of your current destination. Stop in the location with the wall with the inscriptions shown in the picture above. Next to it you will find a new secret - The Dark World: Tin Hinan Note.

Use the stairs leading down and keep going. Help yourself with the amulet's indications.

Ultimately, you have to reach a new portal, but before you go through it, pick up the secret lying next to it - The Dark World: Explorer's Note. Stop right after using the portal and find the matchbook on the ground.

Go forward and remember about the amulet's indications. At some point, the game will suggest sneaking - you do it by moving while crouching.

Follow the linear route - it will lead you to the last portal of this stage. You have to approach it with the amulet equipped.

Paris

You will start a very short Paris chapter - its action takes place in the main character's apartment in Paris.

You can optionally look around the apartment and interact with various items to examine them and activate various flashbacks. To advance in the plot, go to the partially open door.

In the second part of the sequence, go to the cradle and watch a cut-scene. You will be moved back to the caves.
