Capturing the terrain
The mission begins with the demolition of the defensive gate of the city of Kiev. Using 2 trebuchets, destroy the 2 guard towers first.
A small squad of spear men and archers will jump out at you from behind the gate. Send your infantry to deal with the enemy units. Once the guard towers are destroyed, attack the gate. Riders will pursue the survivors.
Defeat all groups of enemies standing near the wall and bring the tents and Villagers. Send a Scout to explore the surrounding area.
Position your troops in front of the gold mine. From time to time, Traders will pass along the main road. Each killed Trader will drop a supply chest.
Put up a Ger tent by the gold mine and hire Villagers to collect resources. Build an Ovoo on the quarry and unpack the military buildings next to it. Erect an Archery Range and start producing military units. Set up a small group of spearmen and archers along the southern road to defend your settlement.
Start destroying the nearest guard towers with trebuchets. One by one, eliminate all small groups of enemy units.
Set up a new squad on the north road, gather your Riders, and head southeast.
Slowly clear the entire area of enemy buildings. Take out small groups of enemies with the help of Riders and destroy every building with trebuchets. By doing so, you will gain a lot of resources and secure an area for a new settlement. As you conquer territory, you'll also find some supply crates.
Destroying the city
Once you have cleared the nearest area of enemy buildings, you can move your tents and expand your settlement. Place a Landmark to advance to the next era and buy all the upgrades for the army.
Put a new Ovoo tent on the next quarry and move the military tents. Erect a religious tent and produce some Shamans.
Use your leader's special ability to produce units faster. This ability accelerates the production of new warriors and research in buildings near the leader for 15 seconds.
Put up an Arsenal and a Siege Workshop and build some siege machines. Gather your troops and head first to the Trade District, located in the south.
With trebuchets and battering rams, start tearing down the watchtowers. Use infantry to attack the enemy unit. The Commercial District will be protected by small groups of enemies, along with several ballistic machines.
Destroy all buildings and return to your settlement. Heal your troops and send them to the next gate.
Start destroying the watchtowers and send a few siege towers to quickly penetrate the city walls. Defeat all the archers, then begin demolishing the gate.
Once you get inside, immediately send in battering rams to demolish the surrounding buildings. Your ballistic machines should be able to quickly deal with the enemy Riders.
If the fight starts to overwhelm you, remember your leader's special abilities. It can boost the defense of nearby units for 15 seconds, increase the range of archers by 50% and increase the movement speed of your army by 33%.
All the while, produce new military units and set Rally Points next to the ongoing battle.
Send all your archers and crossbowmen to the walls and proceed to the next location. Destroy the last gate and defeat the rest of the troops. Finally, burn all remaining enemy buildings.
