On the map below, we've marked all the major locations and resources in The Battle of Zhongdu mission.

Eliminating the Traders

Once the mission begins, select your troops and head along the path. Defeat the enemies you encounter and raze all buildings along the road. The first mission objective is to collect 250 gold by looting enemy structures.

Once you have collected enough gold, reinforcements will arrive from the east along with tents and Citizens. You don't have to establish a settlement right away or worry about producing military units while looting enemy buildings. Your army will collect the necessary resources, allowing more groups of soldiers to join you.

The next task will be to stop the supply deliveries to Zhongdu, carried out by the Traders from the 4 Markets. Divide your army into at least 2 groups and position them near the trade routes marked on the map.

This objective can be completed in 2 ways:

1. By killing all the Traders heading to the city and thus starving the people of Zhongdu;
2. By destroying the 4 Markets marked on the map and thus eliminating all trade routes.

Each successive Trader will have an increasingly large escort. We recommend demolishing the 4 Markets so you can complete the mission objective faster.

Remember to leave some troops on the other routes. If enough supplies reach Zhongdu, the Chinese will get the necessary resources to produce an army to attack your troops.

One by one, destroy all of the 4 Markets marked on the minimap and the remaining enemy buildings. The Chinese villages will only be protected by small groups of units.

Burning down Zhongdu

After starving the people of Zhongdu or destroying all the Markets, make the necessary preparations to finally conquer the city.

Divide your army into 2 groups, build some battering rams and attack the city gates. Once supplies are cut off, Zhongdu will only be protected by a handful of enemies.

To breach the city walls, eliminate the survivors and send battering rams at the 3 buildings marked on the minimap to complete the task.
