The Holy Roman Empire is the most powerful religious civilization in Age of Empires 4. Its unique Prelate unit, available from the beginning of the game, can increase the productivity of its Villagers, ensuring rapid economic development. The strong defensive aspect makes its cities extremely difficult to conquer.

Bonuses

  1. A religious unit available as early as the 1st era;
  2. Man-At-Arms unit available from the 2nd era;
  3. Relics kept in Keeps, Outposts, and Towers strengthen their view range, defense, and grant a bonus to the damage they deal;

  1. Elzbach Palace - a defensive building with Keep features with 50% more resistance points. All buildings affected by this object take 33% less damage;

Unique technologies

2nd era:

  1. Marching Drills (Blacksmith) - Infantry receive a 10% bonus to movement;
  2. Fire Stations (Dock) - increases Dock repair speed by 100%.

3rd era:

  1. Heavy Maces (Barracks) - Men-at-Arms receive an attack bonus against heavy-armed units;
  2. Slate and Stone Construction (Keep) - all buildings receive a bonus to defense against flames;
  3. Benediction (Monastery) - inspired Villagers construct buildings 15% faster;
  4. Devoutness (Monastery) - inspired Villagers harvest resources 10% faster;
  5. Inspired Warriors (Monastery) - Prelate gains the ability to inspire troops, causing military units to gain 1 point to armor and a 15% bonus to damage dealt;
  6. Two-handed Weapons (Barracks) - Men-at-Arms receive a bonus to melee attacks.

4th era:

  1. Reinforced Defenses (Keep) - Fortification gains 40% more Strength points;
  2. Riveted Chainmail (Barracks) - Spearmen gain 3 additional armor points for close combat.

Holy Roman Empire is perfect for players who like to create large-scale armies and design indestructible fortresses. The ability to make emergency repairs increases overall survival during an enemy invasion.

After purchasing the appropriate technology, Prelates can increase the speed and power of infantry units for maximum military efficiency.

Another key unit of the Holy Roman Empire is the Landsknecht, a close combat warrior capable of inflicting AoE attacks. They are incredibly powerful and will be able to deal with large groups of enemies. Combined with a Prelate who uses his special ability, your armies can become very difficult to defeat.

By playing the Holy Roman Empire, you can quickly strengthen your position, build siege machines and create unique units with valuable skills to create a dominant economy and defeat all attacking enemies.
