Look at yourself in the mirror (3 ego points). Look at the cabinet on the right side of the washbasin (two clues). Notice two bottles with medicines - turn them and read their labels. Poirot will take a bottle of laudanum and a sedative. Look also (one clue) at dark stain on the floor (under the washbasin).

Then look at the bed (three clues). Notice slightly misaligned bed, crockery in a mess (on the cupboard). Pay attention to a scruffy coat lying on the chair.

Then make an observation of the table (six clues). Notice dropped bottle on the right, an inky letter from Silky Legs Company, pencil whittled down as almost nothing left (on the left), ABC guide (in the drawer) and a long blade knife (in the drawer too) which you need to zoom in and turn to hear Poirot's commentary. Poirot will take a Cust's knife. Finally, examine the typewriter.

Getting the ribbon from the typewriter

Try to take ribbon out of the typewriter - something is blocking it. Click the left-hand reel and turn it to the left to remove it. Do the same with right-hand reel. Finally look inside the wardrobe (four clues). Notice washed trousers and shirts, the Bexhill daily paper on the shelf, repaired bathing-dress (below) and articles referring to ABC case.

  • Cust's room was rented to someone else on July 25.
  • The Bexhill local paper dating from the day of Betty's murder was found in Cust's room (5 ego points).

Leave Cust's room and while meeting Japp in the hall, talk to him about your discovers.

  • All the letters sent to Poirot come from his typewriter.
  • He has a knife like the one used to stab Sir Carmichael.

Is Cust's behaviour suspicious?

  • He keeps the newspapers that talk about the murders.
  • He lied about his destination.
  • He had blood on him (5 ego points).

After leaving the guest house use taxi to get to Scotland Yard.

For ending Marbury Guest House part you will get a trophy Candelabra moustache.
