This page of our walkthrough to A Plague Tale: Requiem explains how to find your companions after the carriage is attacked in Chapter I - Under a New Sun. The walkthrough explains how to avoid Beekeepers, how to escape the burning grass, how to defeat the Beekeepers indirect combat and how to save Beatrice.
Find the others
You don't need to do anything while riding the carriage. You'll soon confront the Beekeepers again. Once you regain control of Amicia, you must start sneaking again. You're not armed, so you can only avoid them. Hide in tall grass, wait for enemies to turn around or walk away.
On the way you may look into a hut to find a Pot and distract an enemy by throwing a rock at a toolbox.
In the next area you must run away from the fire. Run towards the ruins and get inside through a hole in the wall. After the cutscene climb up and jump off.
Time for a melee tutorial. First, you must Counter an enemy's attack (hold Square/X on the controller). Then hold the same button to Strike. Amicia will choke the enemy out with her slingshot. This method only works on unarmored enemies.
You'll need to kill the remaining foes from a distance. First, aim (hold L2/LT on the controller), prepare a shot (hold R2/RT on the controller) and let go only once you fully lock on to an enemy, to make sure you don't miss.
Keep going forward. Along the way you can kill the enemies with your slingshot or distract them by hitting toolboxes. Squeeze through the branches.
In the next area you can try out a stealth takedown you can use on unarmored foes. Sneak up on an enemy from behind and hold the Strike button (Square/X on the controller).
Save Beatrice
You must now dispatch the enemy holding Beatrice before he kills her. Start aiming, aim for his head and let go once you have a clear shot. This concludes Chapter 1.
