Completing the stage called The Path Before Us (Chapter VII) in A Plague Tale: Innocence you will run into an abandoned mill. Going further requires passing through it. Because the current is strong, it is necessary to slow down the rotating blades first. The following chapter of the guide will show you how to do this.

The mill puzzle - walkthrough

Stopping the mill requires the participation of two people. Go to the wooden wheel to the left of the blades [1]. Turn them to slow down the movement of the mill. Now you're gonna need another person. Order Hugo to pull the lever located on the opposite side [2]. This may be hard to notice, but if you point the camera at the right place, a command icon will appear.

The mill should stop then. Melie can easily cross to the other side. She started to turn the wheel located in front of you [3]. So when you order Hugo to let the lever go, the wheel will still stand. At the end, tell Hugo to jump to the other side and to tighten the lever there [4].

This allows you to freely release the lever and move to the other side.
