Last update: 25 November 2016

The following chapter is a complete description of the gameplay in the Disfavored Camp, associated with Battle of the Echocall Crossing. You will learn about tasks that are ahead of you and how to complete them in the most effective way.

Given quests have been described in separate sections.

Begin the quest

After leaving the Archons tent, Iron Marshal Erenyos headed towards the training ground, located on the right of the camp gate - Battle of the Echocall Crossing - main quest | The Disfavored Camp - The Disfavored Camp - Tyranny Game Guide

After leaving the Archons' tent, Iron Marshal Erenyos headed towards the training ground, located on the right of the camp gate. Approach her and start a conversation that will trigger the first part of Battle of Echocall Crossing. Depending on your attitude towards the Disfavored, you can agree to take the quest right away, make fun of the troops or even request bribe to begin your work. In the meantime, you can mention the storyline aspects which will reveal the significance of the quest.

When you mention the previous encounter, Verse will join the conversation. There are three possible options:

Defend the Disfavored

Disfavored - Gain minor approval

Verse - lose some Loyalty

Defend Scarlet Chorus

Disfavored - lose some Approval

Verse - gain medium Loyalty

Neutral response

No effect

If you are not into the Disfavored, you can accuse them of the failure on the other hand, this is the best move if you want to unlock Verse's special ability. In the end you, you won't lose too much among the Disfavored, and can gain a lot from your Companion.

Barik

Regardless of the dialogue options, once you agree to begin the quest, Erenyos will assign one of his Disfavored, Barik, to assist you. Turns out that Verse knows Barik, and if during the Conquest your hero supported the Disfavored in Stalwart, you can refer to these events as well. Do it to gain medium Loyalty. You may also taunt him, which will increase Verse's Loyalty. You can also pretend that you don't know him or completely ignore the mentioned facts. Furthermore, if during the Conquest you defended reputation of the Disfavored, you will instantly gain some Loyalty. The conversation will unlock Echocall Crossing.

In the last part of the conversation, you can decide whether Barik will join your team or not.

Accept help with respect

Disfavored - gain medium Approval

Barik - gain medium Loyalty

Accept help with contempt

Disfavored - gain medium Hostility

Barik - gain medium Fright

Reject help

Takes you to another dialogue

The following table presents dialogue options if you reject the Disfavored.

Being suspicious towards the Disfavored

Disfavored - gain medium Hostility

Contempt towards Barik

Disfavored - gain medium Hostility

Barik - gain medium Fright

Accept Barik's help

Barik - gain medium Loyalty

Reject help

Barik will remain in the camp.

It is wise to increase the number of your companions at this stage of the game. Accept his help in a way that best represents your attitude towards both fractions. Draw your attention that both companions represent opposite fractions and a conflict is unavoidable. You will often have to support one side or the other so Loyalty and Fright meters will change a lot.

Conversation with Erenyos and further travelling

Once the sequence is over, you may speak again with Erenyos to reveal some interesting storyline aspects. For instance, you may ask about the best warrior in the camp, and the answer will be Barik. Show your approval to gain Approval of the Disfavored and Barik's medium Loyalty. You may also taunt him which will result in Hostility of the Disfavored and Barik's medium Fright.

The next part of the quest will take you directly to Echocall Crossing. However, on your way to the location (and not wasting time) you can visit Scarlet Chorus Camp and this is exactly what you should do. Draw your attention to the fact that time only flies when you travel and the storyline ill make you get back to the mentioned location, so visit it right away to save some time. Before you leave the location, take your time to learn about the list of items that can be found in Disfavored Camp and NPCs that one should talk to in order to start side quests or train. Once this is done, move to a random boarder of the screen and continue your journey.

Conversation with the rebels

Regardless of the fact, if travelling from Disfavored Camp to Echocall Crossing or Scarlet Chorus Camp, you will encounter delegates of the Vendrien Guards. A representative of the rebels, by the name Eb wears robes made of blue silk, which means peaceful approach, and thus you can react in two possible ways.

Attack her

Members of your team may be offended with the fact that the rebels dared to stand in your way, and may convince you to get rid of them. If you decide to fight Eb, she will teleport and you will have to deal with two remaining warriors. They won't be much of a challenge.

Respect Blue Silk

If despite your companions' suggestion you decide not to fight the rebels, you will have a chance to speak a little bit with Eb. Remember that once you decide to talk, you can't attack the mage, or you will break Kyros' law and cause Tunon's Wrath. If Barik suggest to strike and you draw his attention to the custom, you will gain Loyalty of your companions. You may also decide that you will not negotiate with them and gain even more Barik's Loyalty.

During the conversation, you may find out that the rebels have a mage on their side (standing in front of you). Eb is curious about leaders of the Vendrien Guards, whom you encountered in Edgering Ruins, and if they are still alive, she will suggest an exchange. You can tell the truth or lie to her when it comes to Tarkis Demos in the first location. If you sentenced him to death and you told Eb about this, she will ask you about Pelox Tyrel (He held Drastos hostage). Once again you can tell the truth or lie, but regardless what you decide, Tyrel is dead, and no exchange can be made. If the conversation takes too long Verse will suggest not to explain yourself further.

Eb will ask for the Kyros Edict and if it is possible to stop it - Battle of the Echocall Crossing - main quest | The Disfavored Camp - The Disfavored Camp - Tyranny Game Guide

Eb will ask for the Kyros' Edict and if it is possible to stop it. If you reveal the secrets of the spell, you will gain respect among Vendrien Guards. In the end, Eb will walk away with her escort, and you will continue your journey. The following map shows the location of three treasures. There is a Vagrant's Chaw in the first one [1], Rotspear, pomegranate and Agate in the second one [2]. If you stay for a while near the southern rocks [3] you will find another treasure - Bloodmoss.

The Battlefield

Once you reach the battlefield, you will learn that the situation isnt going well - Battle of the Echocall Crossing - main quest | The Disfavored Camp - The Disfavored Camp - Tyranny Game Guide

Once you reach the battlefield, you will learn that the situation isn't going well. Right in front of you, you will notice commander of the Disfavored - Antio and commander of the Scarlet Chorus - Bitter Quip.

As soon as you decide to talk with them or decide to walk pass them, you will added to their discussion. Turns out that the attack was prevented, and one of the bridges was destroyed. The commanders will blame one another, and you will decide which one you want to support. The first part of the dialogues doesn't matter. In the second part, you will have a chance to:

  1. Support Antio (Gain Minor Favor of the Disfavored; Gain Minor Wrath of the Chorus)
  2. Explain that Eb is responsible for the destruction of the bridge
  3. Support Bitter Quip (Gain Minor Wrath of the Disfavored; Gain Minor Favor of the Chorus)
  4. Agree with him, let the villagers go, and brace for a fight (Gain Barik's medium loyalty) - The villagers flee and you fight the rebels [Decisions - variant 2]
  5. Tell them that the rebels have been humiliated enough (Lose Barik's minor loyalty) - see [Path no. 1/Choice 2]
  6. Explain that the objective of the mission has been achieved (Lose minor loyalty and gain Barik's minor fear) - see [Path no. 1/Choice 2]

Choose the dialogue options according to the fraction that you prefer. In the end, you may remain neutral. Regardless of your decision, you will have to select one of the following paths:

Path no 1:

Threaten the commander of the Chorus that you will degrade him if he won't support the Disfavored (Gain Minor Wrath of the Chorus) - Bitter Quip doesn't agree to Antio's plan

Decision I: suggest compensation for the lost troops - Bitter Quip will be very pleased with your decision.

  • 1 offer being first when sharing treasures (Gain Minor Favor of the Chorus) - won't lead anywhere
  • 2 offer being first when sharing treasures and the Disfavored iron (lose Barik's Minor Loyalty and Gain his Medium Fear) - he will gladly agree and the quest will move on (this may lead to failing Forge-Bound Iron)
  • 3 give up the offer - get back to previous dialogue options

Decision II: Ask what would be the price of cooperation - Bitter Quip will demand Antio to beg for his help

  • 1 Make Antio do as requested (Lose Medium Favor of the Disfavored) - Antio will follow your order and the quest will continue
  • 2 Taunt Antio and make him beg (Lose Medium Favor and Gain Minor Wrath of the Disfavored) - Antio will follow your order and the quest will continue
  • 3 look for a different solution - get back to previous dialogue options

Decision III: Hit him (Requires 32 Athletics) (Gain Minor Wrath of the Chorus) - once you hit him, you can stop or continue to use violence. If you hit him for the second time, you will gain Verse's Medium Loyalty. After hitting him for the fourth time, you will lose Barik's Medium Loyalty, and gain his Medium Fear and you will be taken to the previous dialogue option.

Decision IV: Threaten that you will notify the Archon of Chorus about his weakness (32 Subterfuge required) - Bitter Quip will panic and follow your orders right away.

Path no 2:

Ask about his plan - Bitter Quip will not provide any solutions, you will be taken to the previous dialogue option.

Path no 3:

Remind them about the Edict - Bitter Quip will get offended, and you will have the same dialogue options as in case of path 1.

Depending on which fraction you want to support, you can approach the dialogue in different ways. If you want to gain respect among members of the Scarlet Chorus, you should support their commanders and offer Disfavored iron for their assistance. This will prevent you from completing Forge-Bound Iron if you accepted it earlier. If you care about the iron, make Antio beg for help.

Supporting Antio will gain you respect among the Disfavored. You can make commander of the Chorus to cooperate by force. Two hits equals Verse's greater Loyalty. If you care about Barik's Loyalty, stop using force after the second hit, and if you prefer his Fear, hit the commander as many times as possible. You may also use Subterfuge and notify that you will inform the Archon about this. This dialogue option will make Bitter Quip join the battle.

Follow the plan

Your next task will be to distract Vendrien Guards and allow Chorus forces to cross the collapsed bridge - Battle of the Echocall Crossing - main quest | The Disfavored Camp - The Disfavored Camp - Tyranny Game Guide

Your next task will be to distract Vendrien Guards and allow Chorus forces to cross the collapsed bridge. Head to the west bridge and draw their attention to yourself. Before going there, you can search the available area but remember that the way to the bridge is protected by guards and some traps. In order to disarm them, you will need at least 21 points of Subterfuge. Wait for a moment and allow your team to detect them.

You won't be able to cross the bridge as Vendrien Guards will raise it. On the other side of the river you will notice their leader - Matani Sybil. At first she will take you for a Disfavored, but then she will realize that you are Kyros' representative and you will be able to speak with her. Regardless of the options that you select you will receive the following dialogue options (you may however taunt her or threaten her which will grant you Minor Wrath of the Vendrien Guards.

  • Promise her that you will spare her if she lowers the bridge - she will mock you and the conversation will be over
  • Reveal that you know about Eb - nothing will happen
  • Demand that she lowers the bridge - she will mock you and the conversation will be over

Regardless of the option you pick, you will process with your quest, because by speaking with her, you gave the Chorus enough time to get to the other side of the river. Get back to the commanders and Bitter Quip will provide you with further instructions. When speaking with him, you can choose the neutral approach, or support one of the fractions and gain their favor.

Now you have to use the rope to reach the other side of the river. You will need to have Athletics at level 33, which shouldn't be a problem. You will come across a small squad of rebels, which depending on the difficulty level may be a minor or major threat. You should pay attention to enemies who use magic. Deal with them first.

Go west, along the river. Your task is to lower the bridge, so that the rest of the troops could reach the other side. When spotted, the troops by the West Bridge will retreat and you will have the following dialogue options. Regardless of your choice, you will need to engage in a fight. You can grant yourself some Athletics points if you have at least 32 points of this skill. Matani Sybil will run away to the next location during the fight.

Your foe will have an advantage over you when it comes to numbers, so use your special abilities and healing potions wisely. Defeat the rebels, lower the bridge and let the rest of the army join you. Head to the new location -Echocall Village. Before you precede, you can search the map for useful items.

Pacification of the Echocall Village

Upon entering the Echocall Village it will become evident that its inhabitants are helping the rebel forces. The villagers will run as soon as they'll see you, and two warriors from Vendrian Guard will appear on your path. Not that they will cause you any problems... Loot the bodies and head north. There's only one path to get there, a palisade will lead you among the houses and to your objective.

Looking at the minimap, there are two enemies waiting for you in the left upper corner of the location, but be careful, because there are also two traps set up on the road leading to them, the screenshot above shows their exact location (34 Wits required) - Battle of the Echocall Crossing - main quest | The Disfavored Camp - The Disfavored Camp - Tyranny Game Guide

Looking at the minimap, there are two enemies waiting for you in the left upper corner of the location, but be careful, because there are also two traps set up on the road leading to them, the screenshot above shows their exact location (34 Wits required). Since, however, the traps are close to the enemies, you'll be unable to disarm them in peace. The best you can do is to select your whole party and approach the enemy on your right [1], and once you done, take care of his buddy [2]. Keep your characters on a short leash to safely navigate through the traps, which may cost them a sound amount of health points. When you're done, you can safely disarm the traps to earn some Wits points.

After you deal with the rebels, head east, past the building [3], and later south. You will approach a wide plaza, and soon after Matani Sybil herself will appear. Once she's done with her short declaration, she'll make her exit over the rooftops, and your party will be attacked by three rebels. The battle may not be easy, as the rebels have iron gear, which deals significantly more damage. Send two of your warriors to deal with the caster, and the other characters to take out the melee fighter. Once they hit the ground, proceed to wipe out the third enemy.

The second part of the quest will play out on the roof of the build on which Matani Sybil appeared shortly before - Battle of the Echocall Crossing - main quest | The Disfavored Camp - The Disfavored Camp - Tyranny Game Guide

The second part of the quest will play out on the roof of the build on which Matani Sybil appeared shortly before. If you head south, you will find stairs, as seen on the screenshot above. The will enable you to climb on the roof. The leader of the forces defending the Echocall Crossing will be waiting there for you with a group of Vendrian Guardsmen. They're not here to cause any trouble, though, and you can talk to Matani Sybil.

On this conversation, and your decisions in it, depends the outcome of the quest. Below, you will find a complete list of al the dialogue options and their consequences.
