[05-S] The Mysterious Case of a Lost Chest TW II: Pirates of The Flying Fortress Guide

Beginning: You get this quest from Jerry in [1] on the map below.

You'll find Jerry in [1]. He's guarding the pirates' storehouse, sitting on one of the barrels. To get to him simply teleport yourself to [3], and then run south to [1]. Though it'll be hard to communicate with him in the beginning, you need to question him about the lost chest and offer your assistance.

Your next task is to look for tracks. They appear as green dots on a minimap, so you won't have any problems with finding them. The first track can be found near the storehouse exit, and the next ones are in [4], [5], [6] and [7]. In the end it'll turn out that the tracks lead to the sea, so get back to searching the opposite shore.

Get there by boat or by swimming (afterwards, you'll be using teleports anyway) and examine the traces in [8] and [9]. You can get rid of two Quercuses and Sorbuses so that they won't disturb you. There are two tracks in [10], and before you reach another one, find the teleport Maren's Homestead in [11]. Examine two tracks in [12], another two in [13] and one more in [14]. Eventually you'll get to the last track in [15] and you'll receive 5,000 XP. Nearby there's a chest - just hit it. And - what do you know! - the chest will start running away. Chase it and when it stops in [16] hit it again.

It'll turn out that the chest is really a mimic and it even has a name - Malvick. The creature will ask you to bring him some food from the pirates' storehouse. So, teleport to [3] and go to [1]. Jerry won't be there, so you'll be able to take Apples, Meat and Bread without any trouble - the food can be found in bags and in a barrel - search the storehouse carefully. Teleport to [11] and bring the food to Malvick in [16]. He'll give you Amanita Muscaria in return, and tell you to carry it to a certain Petey. You'll get 10,000 XP.

Teleport to [3] one last time and the go to the pirates' storehouse in [1] and talk to Petey. He'll be very grateful for bringing him the mushroom. The reward will be Petey's trading services (in the form of a completed quest Access the Pirates' Supplies), quiver Thunderbolt, Recurve Crossbow, Bronze Badge (unless you already have one), +10 to reputation among the pirates and 20,000 XP.
