The world in Torment: Tides of Numenera is incredibly vast and detailed. It's virtually impossible to describe all the possible interactions and combinations of different actions and decisions. Every character that has a different set of abilities and available statistics will have access to different dialogue options and methods of learning about the world. Despite many common features, different play styles will mean a much different gameplay.
What's more, your decisions and chosen dialogue options define you within a certain Tide (described elsewhere in this guide). This creates additional possibilities in the game. You can really adjust the gameplay style to your preferences: avoid combat, or the opposite; pursuit physical confrontation. We tried to include as many variants of finishing main and side quests, and puzzle solutions as it was possible.
Apart from completing quests, you should also make sure to examine the locations thoroughly. High-quality maps (also included in this guide) will certainly come in handy - they contain, apart from the main locations, other interactive regions. You should experiment and try different combinations. Mind you that just a regular conversation with a shopkeeper can give you a slight XP boost - it's also advisable to use different rhetoric dialogue options (Persuasion, Deception, Intimidation) at every opportunity.
