Securing of the point in the Hardpoint mode. - Hardpoint - Game modes - Titanfall - Game Guide and Walkthrough
Securing of the point in the Hardpoint mode.

Hardpoint Domination is a mode that consists in seizing and keeping areas in your control, which generates points. . All over the map, there are 3 zones scattered, which both your and the enemy squads are to seize. The game ends after a pre-set point level is achieved. If, after the allotted time passes, and none of the squads achieves the pre-determined level of points, the team that won the most points wins. The areas seized by your squad are marked in blue, the ones occupied by your enemy - in orange. To seize a point, you need to approach it and be there for some time - first you neutralize the area and then take control over it, as long as there are no enemies standing there. If there are any, then it is impossible to seize the point until all of the enemies in that area are eliminated. The squad that keeps more zones, gains points faster.

A tight situation.

Due to the game's dynamics, the zones change hands very quickly. For that reason, game in this mode can be divided into 2 kinds: offensive game, gaining points and defensive game, a more conservative one, where you defend the already seized zones. Also - you receive such points as a player - the offensive and defensive points decide your final position, after the game ends.

Offensive style

The player that decides to play in offense should remember that he should stay in constant movement, even while seizing points. A good choice here is the Enhanced Parkour Kit, which allows you to run over walls. It is a good idea to combine it with Stim. This will ensure maximum mobility and quick changing of positions. What may prove to be another good combination is Cloak and Power Cell. Thanks to this combo, you will become less visible while moving across the open spaces, from point to point. When it comes to arms, both the ones designed for the medium and long distance work well here - a good choice is the R-97 Compact SMG of high rate of fire and the powerful Eva-8 Shotgun. A regular rifle also will do. The Titan, its abilities and its weaponry should be chosen according to your preferences and preferred playing style, and to whether you will be focusing on fighting the enemy machines or on keeping Pilots away from your zones.

Defensive style

A Pilot that decides to play defensively should find a good exit position, but also remember about staying in motion. Defensive playing style is not about staying put in one place so, you should remember to move around the point that you defend. For defense, the Enhanced Parkour Kit, will prove useful, which will allow you, in this case, to hang down from walls longer. If you chose a good spot, due to the dynamics of the game, you can remain undetected, because most players look around corners, in search for hanging Pilots. The Cloak is an additional asset here. When it comes to weaponry, any will do for defense - take advantage of the element of surprise and make sure that you are accurate while shooting. Another useful option, for the loadout is the Power Cell or Explosive Pack. The former will allow you to use the cloak more often and for longer, where the latter increases the number of grenades that will come in handy to harass the opponent. Just like in the previous case, the choice of the Titan is up to you. It is worth considering one with a minigun, like e.g. XO-16 Chaingun and to put it in the Guard mode, around the seized zone. This will increase its defense, against the enemy, considerably.
